I hope congratulations will be in order by the time you read this.

what six said. you can't do anything for the step mom now. you can do something for your kid.

Wow man, what a difficult situation. I'm sorry to hear about your step mother's passing. But I'm with the above guys, if at all possible I think you should try to go to her memorial get together with the new mom if that's doable.

Similar events happened to my family recently & it brought our dysfunctional asses somewhat back together lol.

Yeah, I'm going to just stay here with her and the soon to be baby. Everyone is right, the baby takes priority in this situation. I feel like such an ass because shes been all worried that I was going to leave.

Be reassuring. Then be more reassuring. The hormones are going to be screwing with her mind right now and what you need to foster most is trust between you. She's got a lot going on and is going to have a feeling of being overwhelmed and a worry of abandonment. Speak in comforting and soothing tones...like Barry White.

I've never regretted being with my wife and daughter instead of somewhere else.

Many times I have regretted the being somewhere else though. Hard to say in a situation like this...but you are the head of a family now, and your family comes before EVERYTHING else from here on out.

One more thing...women never forget.

Thanks for all the advice. Tomorrow is her due date and she is definitely ready to pop.
