Don't risk it. Pay the registration fee. Get a temp moving permit (the big red #) till you smog and register it. Either that or be willing to pay the tow fee if you get caught.

You can also get 1+ day moving permits if that's all you need. I used to go into the DMV every week to get more.

I do that with every car ive bought and never had a problem.

same here and I've bought A LOT of cars. Got pulled over once and I had the title and BOS with me. Cop wanted to give me a ticket like a **** but let me go.

im on # 12 or 13 so ive done it plenty of times.
