OMFG, I've never had so much fun watching a race.
I'm looking for a car, today...no miatas though. They don't belong out there, and if you show up in one and do marginally well, you'll get crushed. However, the crushed miata worked out nicely because I scored a valve cover bolt for my COPs that helped get me home.

I didn't know it, but I actually know the guys on that team (one is the back-up driver for MER's mx-5 cup car). A guy on the team was the financier from that movie associated with eddie griffin wrecking the enzo.

next time I go, either spectating or driving, I'm bringing a keg. That's just the way its done. No seriously, I'll buy a keg and give away free beer. I don't give a ****, call the cops.
Its also funny to meet people from the forum and get introduced as, "this is the guy who's crazy / evil / fucked up / an ******* on the internet, but cool in person.

24 Hours Of Lemons: Eddie Griffin Enzo Bumper Lives On As LeMons BMW Wing, Could Be Yours!
Matt Groner, the guy who restored the once-bashed Enzo is also a 24 Hours Of LeMons racer. This race, he's running a 1995 BMW E36 (obtained via salvage title, which didn't stop the Chief Perp from slapping a 100-lap BS Penalty on it), and he decided it would look much better with the beat-up original carbon-fiber bumper from the Enzo bolted to its roof.

oh man, I'd love to but I think Johnwag might kill me. However, I'm open to any help you may have to get everything completed on the cheap. The cage is the most worrisome part. I want the safest cage I can buy and big, nasty Nascar bars...but don't like the idea of "the people's curse" taking the cage from us.

If they want to send us to the crusher, so be it but hopefully they'll take it easy on the cage. Its amazing to see how much **** they took out of that car before it went to the crusher...especially the torsen. However, I agree that its not fair to put a miata out there.

The judges hated us just because we had a miata. Anytime we could get in trouble for anything, we got black flagged. One of my team mates got the car 30 degrees sideways and he was called in for too aggresive driving. I got a little irritated and told him it was a race and that if you didn't get a little loose here and there you weren't driving hard enough. Whatever though.
If you thought spectating it was fun then you will have an absolute blast driving it. We didn't give a crap about the car and loved it even more becasue of that fact. It was overheating, burning oil, and made a really bad vibration in third gear, but was the most fun that i have ever had with a car.

Anyone get the Grill of Damocles? That is such an awesome punishment.
Do they still do the Al Gore award?
