ight im gunna buy a supercharger that is like an intank or whatever for 239 an turns on by when i flip the switch.i was also looking at a chip that hooks up to my intank and is suppose to boost hp 20-50%...i think ima get that after the supercharger but some people have told me that chips will hurt the motor cuz there basically lieing to the motor. u think it will be fine?

Why do we let people like that breed? Why do we still not have an international law stopping them from reproducing?

The guy needs some help. He obviously does not know what he is doing. Is he talking on a miata or another application? When I see post like that I usually try to help the guy instead of give him crap, unless he has an attitude.

This was on a local forum. The guy owns a 1990-something cadillac deville. People were nice enough to let him know that those were some horrible ideas. Thread has now progressed to someone offering to help him install a wet shot, so at least he's headed in a more logical direction.

People like that need to be fucked with. Members of a forum need to team up and make this guy believe that what he is talking about is a serious advancement in horsepower. Then make him believe that a 250hp shot of nitrous in a good idea and won't hurt his engine. Then sit back and watch him make pieces.
This dude at work was braggin about his eclipse GSX and how he claims it runs 12's. I'm like 13.9's if you're lucky. So he comes to work and tells me he turned his boost up from 9 to 18psi, and now it runs like ****. He did this after I tried to explain AFR's to him and the importance of a Wideband O2. He claims, "just turn up the boost, it'll be fine."
Before people make assumptions, they need to have the willingness to listen and learn.

People come to these sites to learn. The guy obviously doesn't know jack. Why be an ***. If you try and help him and he tries to act like a know-it-all or, or won't listen to those trying to help, that's a different story.

Because it is more fun to be an *** than seriously try to help this mouth breather.

I'm really not sure what he is trying to say either.

I have a pretty high level of sympathy for someone with that level of ignorance. They just need a little education via some good reading material. Of course this assumes that their reading comprehension skills are better than their writing skills.

He was talking about a supercharger. The supercharger he speaks of actually does replace the intake manifold. Most SC for V8's unless it is a centrifical, replaces the factory intake manifold. The turning on with a swith thing I have no clue. There are some SC that can be disengaged by a clutch, which is sometimes electroniclly activated with a switch, but it is not widely used. My best guess is he is confused on that part. The chip thing, many people use chips in GM vehicles, which is basically some hot setting above factory specs that can yield anywhere from 5-50 HP depending on the application...advance timing, leaning out AFR's etc. Most are not designed to be used with other add ons like SC's. Sounds like he has been reading on what's availible but don't fully understand what he is reading, that often happens with people that don't know **** about cars and are trying to learn just from reading. I could probably get him pointed in the right direction in a few post without ******* with him. But I know you guys would rather be dicks, of course none of you have ever been in a position where you didn't know jack and need some help or info, you were all born geniuses.

Actually, what I think is he was talking about the electric supercharger that runs off a 12 volt source.

Yeah one of those ducted fans that blows air into the intake. Plastic crap impeller waiting to explode and send plastic shrapnel into your intake manifold ... woot !

Are you that thick? Really? Do you know whay ebay is? ANYONE with 50% of a brain and has the slightest clue about cars and how they work would know they guy is talking about some cheap *** "e turbo" that is nothing more than a cooling fan from your local marine supply company. Same with the "chip". This crap is all over ebay and is just a resistor you add to the MAF/MAS to tell the computer that intake temps are extremely low so it dumps more fuel in.

People that are that stupid should be taking cabs everywhere..not driving or owning cars. They are the people who drive with their brights on because they think the blue light on their ******* dash means their headlights are on, they are the ******** the put a spare tire on and go 90mph on the interstate, they are the morons that don't ever bother checking to make sure their tail lights work and drive at night with no rear lighting, they are the piles of **** that have 4 different tires on their car. These people lack what we call "common sense".

Argh. I don't ever help people who have no concept on the English language either..because by answering 2 question, you get 37 more questions about **** that a average 3rd grader could answer.

I don't think that's what he was talking about because he said it replaces the intake.
