Ride the Lightning, which the Urban Dictionary defines as "the greatest album of all time," was released in 1984.
The Beatles made their American debut on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964. Thus, Metallica seems older to a teenager today than The Beatles (and Ed Sullivan) did to me when I was their age. |
AMON AMARTH |

Underrated band from late 80s, early 90s, Wrathchild America. Later changed their name to Souls At Zero. The drummer, Shannon Larkin is in Godsmack now: Appropriate video for this forum: Another Probably my fav of theirs |

I recommend listening to these in this particular order. To those who are not familiar with these bands - give it a try, most people really like what they hear ;)

|
I saw your umlauts and raised arabic text.

Deftones is most likely my favorite band of all time.
I really like this band also, and this girl's vocals are amazing: |
She has an impressive range. Front deep grunt to higher pitch smooth vocals. Pretty nice.
|
Yea iwrestledabear once is pretty cool. Gonna check em out next month. As for chick lead singers this is my fave lesser known group.
of course EVERYONE knows of arch enemy so i wont even bring her up. |
Must watch
God hails to Behemoth Meshuggah, because....Meshuggah |
Fleshgod Apocalypse reminds me of Dimmu Borgir, just faster, and less Norwegian.
|
I used to listen to The Union Underground when I was much younger. I think they only put out 1 cd before they split up.
|
lol @ "lives in mom's basement" crew.

Nothing more metal than stringed instruments played with a bow...
My Opeth Pandora station has been giving me some pretty awesome ---- the last few nights. I have such a wide range of musical taste, it's crazy how some of them sometimes overlap in awesome ways. The images in the slideshow make me laugh. It's just not possible to try and look metal standing with anything other than a guitar or drum sticks. |
^^that was awesome^^
New track released by Gojira from their upcoming album release. Controls to play the track are on the right. More Gojira More Progressive Metal |
Womenz in metalz
|
Back to progressive metal, or whatever this may fall under... this ------- song... words cannot explain how ------- much I love this.
|
I remember when this first aired on TV. It was my first look at the Deftones
|
Man some of these concerts are a pain to watch.

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1337650112 I actually just sort of found out about Dethklok, at first I wrote them off as another one of "those" new metal acts. But I really like a lot of their stuff. This one makes me smile. Lyrics... |

Heard of it, yes, watched, no. I rarely watch TV these days. If I do, it's The Weather Channel. Netflix everything else.
These guys are my heroes. |
 I know of Dr Rockso, but haven't actually seen him. I might have to check it out. I found that quite funny.
|
You gotta start watching the show. Start from season 1 and work your way to the new stuff. The episodes are only 12 minutes long, so you'll get there fast, haha.
This is the show's creator. He also did a show called "Home Movies" back on the old Adult Swim. Fuk yea! |

this is one of my favourite bands, cradle of filth so...
LET THE TRIBUTE TO CRADLE OF FILTH BEGIN COF no time to cry COF lillith immaculate |
Meh. I went through a phase in high school where COF was ALL that was in my CD player at any given time, for probably 2 years. I was HUGE into them, and thought they where the ----. But now, not so much. They are too commercialized and too glam and trendy for me. Their older stuff is OK, but I really haven't heard much of their stuff newer than early 2000's. What I have heard, I didn't like.
From the cradle to enslave is a bad ass song and video though. The playing of the piano with hammers has always stuck with me for some reason. I recall that from right after that song came out. Also, this thread always reminds me of how ------- diverse my music tastes are. I am ALL OVER the place. I really only rule out country music and polka. Everything else, and every blend is fair game. |

its a shame how so many bands start out awesome and end up being crap. slipknot came out of the gate screaming, an awesome symphony of noise and their last album i heard from them, "all hope is gone", sucked. very few have been able to keep close to their original ways.

Yeah, hip hop and rap are pretty much on my no listen list, but there are a few old school hip hop songs I like, so I don't completely write it off. Classical is also way up there in my list of music I like. I range from the most evil, dark sounding black metal, to the most fun, girly k-pop songs (Girls Generation). I guess that's part of me being such a contradictory and split personality son of a bitch that I am.
