SATX is a nice place to visit, but a better place to rob.

This coming from someone in Houston?

As a continually growing city, yes, there are some places within that need refreshing. However, a bulk of the city is not, "run down".

Combine that w/ the wealth of things to do and the proximity to the Hill Country, I see your Beaumont suburb and raise you a non-putrid environment.

Hey, I'm a staunch Capitalist and there are more of us in Austin, you must stay away from East 6th to find us though. I'm in Dallas again but when my GF finishes PhD we plan to move to Travis County to an area where I can fulfill my dream of owning a massive metal building for my car and toys. If she selects UT then my move will commence sooner. She's the money maker, I'm simply along for the ride looking for a job to support my track budget.

I'll be down there on 11/20 at HHR and throughout the Texas winter. DFW is wearing on my patience.

I am not a huge supporter of SA, but I think it is like every other city, there are nice parts, and parts you should avoid. I had never even seen a real live gangster before I moved here. I got lost somewhere I shouldn't have gone. Anyways, get your CC permit if yo are worried. Texas honors most states carry permits.

Alight, i have been coming up with a master plan to get my *** moved out there. So here is pretty much how its gonna go down.

I would like to move out there a lil after the first of the new year. That will give me time to get a few thing done around here (i.e. get my transcripts together, go to the local college and have them reprint my welding certs and all that good mess, spend cristmas with my family and so on) As far as a job goes. Right now im workin at Dunkin Donuts, so im gonna see about transfering to one out there. That way I wont be without a job when I get there and in the meantime find someone that will rent me a room or somthing while I find a good job and work towards getting my own place.

i deffinatly want to come out there before hand to see what Texas is like to help my final decision in moving out there.

Wait until January to take a road trip out to visit. I am pretty sure that is when I will be heading west to figure out if I want to move there.

It is a date.

I think that my plan is to visit Houston, San Antonio, and Austin as I hear thats where all the cool people live. Realistically I probably will not move out tell late summer if I go.

I also want to hit up New Orleans for a night on the way out.

I mean I could come and visit San Anglo if I must.

I am pretty sure I would get Shanked if I stop there, or at least get in arguments with Cowgirl fans.

My take,

Dallas: plain and crowded
Houston: too flat and floods easy, crowded
Austin: it has UT and one highway
San Antonio: no place like it.

Give a shout out when you have settled on dates you will be in each town. We'll see if we can get folks at each stop to meet up, if nothing more than for food, bench racing and fermented/distilled beverages...
