I've considered Jacksonville an option for when I relocate in the next couple months. Either that or Tampa.

I'm waiting to hear back from the Albuquerque gig. A place in Bend, Oregon just opened up, but I'm not sure about the rain. Egg Harbor township, NJ looked interesting, but the winters are off putting.

Bend is even more gorgeous, it's up in the "desert" of Oregon, and gets much more rain. Where Portland gets probably 33% sunny days a year vs. rain, it's more like the opposite in Bend. Harsher winters though. Nothing like the east coast, but it's at the base of Mt. Bachelor, so you get plenty of snow every year.

I've lived in south, central and north FL and north is my pick. It's just not as intensely hot (and for as long) as the south or central. There's actually a season change in Jax. It also cuts a big chunk out of any road trips north - like to Roebling Rd. and Rd. Atlanta.
