Your friends are idiots, AWD and 4WD are safer in certain situations. There is still user input.

Don't buy a Volvo! I bought my wife an s80 3 years ago and we've had SEVERAL issues. Volvo's service and warranty is excellent, but you pay for it. Luck all of our problems were fixed under warranty or it would have cost us thousands in repairs. Some parts we had to replace were sway bars, power steering(twice), engine mounts and about a dozen pair of front headlights. I will say though, ever since we hit 50k, it's been a great car. I guess we just needed to work out the kinks.

Volvo's are a lot different now thanks to the miracle of platform sharing with Ford.

If I was going to get a Volvo, the C30 is the one I'd do, nice shape and great interior.

I hear they're not real driver's cars. (volvo's that is) not the best 'feel' from the steering wheel to the tires. but to each there own, go test drive everything.

I just bought an '08 lancer if you care to know, got it for $17,245, power everything, 6 disc indash cd/mp3 player, cruise, 5spd, fog lights, they even give you power steering, carpet, and AC. things I didn't have in teh miata. and I average 27-29mpg a tank. great car.

My dad's been looking for a car since he sold his 350Z. The more we look, the more we realize just how perfect the Miata is. The NB especially.

Buying a new car is rarely a good financial move, and it's downright stupid when you're fresh out of college.

Keep the miata and be happy with it.

Well if you want to dish out 30K you could get an e39 m5 or e46 m3, but both of those will make you pay out of the *** when you need a repair. I would get an E36 m3 and supercharge it, then pocket the leftover 10g .

Or you could be creative and get an e30 and swap in a s50, but thats more of a project car than what your talking about, although it would be fracking ractaculous! I forgot how much I love bm's.

Oh and +1 for a 350z if its practical enough for you, those are brilliant and sound mean. Evo and sti are also blindingly fast, but come with a certain image.

+1 for a G35.
There are many cars coming out soon that are 2+2 that will be cheaper and better than the volvo. Save some money and just get a mazdaspeed 3.
The C30 just looks like another 2 door hatchback.

new volvo = ford. Rock an old 240/740 turbo wagon. I've been looking for a running 5 speed volvo wagon for months.
