Tired of your turbo?

Bear in mind correction factor is 20%, however this is an MP62 + TDR IC (i believe) + Hydra, on FM's dyno. 10 psi
Lots of torque, lots of timing. Looks like fun

I bet it would be rediculous at sea level.

Loki047 08-07-2007 03:40 PM

I want an MP62 for a 1.6 soo bad

Atlanta93LE 08-07-2007 04:27 PM

Looks very nice. Maybe not my style, but nice.

m2cupcar 08-07-2007 05:17 PM

isn't that a corrected dyno sheet?

jayc72 08-07-2007 05:19 PM

20% according to Ben.

Ben 08-07-2007 05:27 PM

Well, 20% according to Jeremy @ FM :)
However, bear in mind that they're only getting 10psi out of the blower, where at 'normal' altitude they should be getting 12-14 with those pulleys.
So even if their correction is optomistic, I think that the torque curve speaks for iteself. 200 ft lbs at every usable rpm looks good to me.

Pitlab77 08-07-2007 05:42 PM

i passed on a used mp62 with TDR i/c set up a month ago

akaryrye 08-07-2007 06:51 PM

looks like a really fun setup, If i had gone that route I am sure that I would not have regretted it.

TonyC 08-07-2007 07:09 PM

and it's on piss CO gas too, yah?

too bad a complete MP62 setup would cost me more than the car itself... :td:

Braineack 08-07-2007 07:21 PM

almost the same output as the new FMII at 10psi on a 2002.....

Gloko 08-07-2007 08:50 PM

I think everyone here can agree that that is a very nice curve of power.....talk about low end grunt!.....be nice to take that for a spin.........

FFS has them in stock next week Loki Mp62 for the 1.6 finally :D http://www.fastforwardsuperchargers....?t=610&page=18 only 3500$

Ben 08-07-2007 09:17 PM

yeah, and the only one together isn't functional because the "motor was bad".

I should start stocking up on motors; I think there will be a rush on them soon. Anyone ever shorted miata motors? :gay:

Hotside :(

There's no doubt that for a whole lot of people the super is a worthwhile alternative. Mp 62 systems are pretty new, there isn't much coming up for sale used yet. They're just about impossible to DIY so most of us cheap guys are turbo fans. We'll likely see more users on this sight consider s-charging when more systems come up for sale 2nd hand.

Savington 08-08-2007 02:40 AM

About the same torque as my setup. S/Cs don't impress me.

bripab007 08-08-2007 08:09 AM

Savington, while it may have roughly the same torque as your T25 setup at this particular pulley ratio, it also has the capability of flowing far more air than your turbocharger. The MP62 will flow enough air for ~350hp at the crank.

He speaks truth mp62 is a very nice unit. I don't care that elepha blew his motor or not. What i do care is Tom has had the balls to put a mp62 into a 1.6 for all those who are tired of a m45. This is a wonderfull thing, all tunning issues aside. If handled properly the mp62 1.6 has alot of potential I sincerely wish they would consider abit more in the management department though. PC pro has not impressed me thus far at all. RRFPR kicks it's ass hands down.

Braineack 08-08-2007 08:31 AM

Tom had the balls to throw an mp62 into a 1.6L without knowing a piss about fueling. :gay:

Does it now? I'd bet at sea level, with the current pulley set, this car will make ≥200 ft lbs from 2500 rpm to redline, and ≥230 from 3800-6500.

That's a lot of area under the curve, more than my turbo set up.

Of course, I'm running .3L less displacement, an original/untouched head, and my whole FI set up was probably half the cost or less.
