These are the ones I'm thinking about... problem is that they will almost certainly need a decent amp. The wife already ***** everytime I buy something new... especially when she told me how good a job I did getting rid of all my old ****.

For amps... something small'ish and cheap. Possibly a LittleDot or FiiO.

Maybe I should give the Grado's a try first.

 

Arrived today. That's a 22" monitor, so you can tell these things are BIG! After a couple days break-in, I'll be back for full report... but I can tell you these things have some serious detail. I've been streaming some live acoustic stuff through Pandora (yes, even some ELMO rock) and you can really hear a lot more with a good set of monitors.

In any case, I'm in heaven... can't wait for the wife and kids to be gone for an hour so I can turn'em up!!!
