Trip to Austin Texas
I will be in Austin Texas from tomorrow through Sunday morning. Thursday I am planning on spending the day at BEGI. Friday afternoon I will be at a good friends wedding. So that leave tomorrow night, and Saturday to find things to do. I will be stopping at Blacks for BBQ per Hustlers suggestion one day. What other things should I check out in Austin. Also if any of the local Austin miata people want to meet up and grab a beet I am game for that.

I was born and raised there, moved away when I was 20. From what I understand, it's changed drastically in the last 10 years. Check out 6th street obviously, and I would highly recommend the Magnolia Cafe. Black's is good, Stubbs is better. The salt lick is a great place for BBQ. If you're fond of ice cream, Amy's ice cream is a local chain that serves the best I have ever had. Order the Mexican vanilla. You won't be disappointed. Other than that, I'm fond of grabbing a sandwich at thundercloud subs when I'm in town but that's about it. Hit up lime creek road if you're looking for a good driving experience.
Wish I was still in the area. I'd definitely grab a beer with ya.

Let me be your trip advisor.
I actually am on my way home from austin right now. I don't know if it was a fluke, but Salt Lick had the worst barbecue I've ever had in my life, and I'm from Ohio (should say a lot). Magnolia is a go, and also if you're into burgers hopdoddy has just about the best money can buy. Home slice has great pizza and across the street Guerros has awesome Mexican food. 6th street if you're into the whole big bar scene, live music on east 6th. At the Hyatt I saw some advertisements about ziplining, I'm not sure whereabouts that is but it might be something to look into. Where is BEGI at in austin?

I went straight from Hustler's bed to Blacks today. All I can say is it was like heaven in my mouth the first bite of brisket I took. I ended up getting a pound of brisket, and a pound of beef ribs. It will be my dinner tonight and my breakfast this morning.
Tomorrow morning I get up and head down to Begi. Looking at a map it is about a 1 hour 20min drive which is not to bad.

Blacks IS awesome.
I spent Easter Sunday there a few years ago... when the Black family heard I'd woken up at 3am to get to the airport, they insisted on showing me around.
Got all sorts of great stories about the family while I was there...
Best business trip ever, thanks to them.
The job? Meh. It sucked *****.
