Very tempting at that price, but the fact that it was somebody else's project and their letting it go for such a low amount makes me think twice.

I'm very interested. I'll try to get ahold of the owner for more details this weekend.

Good price for a excellent parts list.

Some one buy it and turbo it.

Definitely a worthwhile buy if only for the jumpstart on the project. With the motor older than that car it can never be made CARB legal. It was for sale back around Christmas so I wonder why it never sold. Maybe the CARB thing?

Yeah, hopefully that's not it. That's my most important question for him though.

Why not buy the car, take out the old 5.0 and swap in a newer LSx? Wouldn't that make make it CARB legal?

And sell the 5.0 and T5 on Craigslist. Depending on what transmission they used (didn't some of the early SN's come with TK3550s?) the engine/trans combo could bring in several hundred rubles..

Actually, aside a few little things that swap (on the surface, anyway) looks pretty good. Nice price, even if something is missing/wrong.

I can't see someone going backwards and ripping everything out to make and LS1 car. No economic sense. It will end up going to someone that doesn't have the smog crap to deal with and they will finish it.

Or stay in CA for a track only car.
