volvo wagons
anyone have experience with the mid 90s volvo wagons?
I'm thinking about picking one up for work since I need the space. Currently have an 06 Chevy HHR which while nice I hate the payments and I've put a shitload of miles on it (55k miles since 4/15/06)
Any experience as far as reliability, ease of working on, etc?

Funny, I just took a S40 1.9T on a test drive today (55K) It drove much nicer then the 05 Mazda 3 I also recently drove(13K).
Stupid ? but how are you going to get out of an 06 chevy? Unless you own it out right your screwed
FWIW My father has an '06 HHR has company car, we all laugh at him

We're trading in our 2002 s80 soon. I was not impressed. We had to replace engine mounts, replaced the powersteering motor twice, on the 8 set of headlights, replaced the front swaybars and a couple others things that are not coming to mind. Thank god we bought a warranty. It's a very nice car, but be prepared for **** breaking and paying top dollar for volvo service. Anyone interested in my volvo?:gay:
Was just curious, had a feeling the volvo wagons weren't that greatest around but there are a bunch locally for sale for $4k and less.

Sounds like the new MAzda 3's and 6's.... My neighbor has both... replaced brake ROTORS at 13K WTF???? (under warrantee) makes a 500hp GM GTO sound like a Gem..
Fritch, I love HHRs. I think they're really practical in many ways. They're nice to drive, too. So, kudos on that decision.
If it were me, I'd avoid the Volvo wagon like the plague. My neighbor insisted on them, but oddly, I never saw them: they were always at the shop.

Newer volvos are mechanical nightmares. You will loose much more money paying to keep a volvo running than loosing from futher depreciation on the HHR. Face it, the HHR is already bottomed out from the very high miles--unless you're going to park it for a year or two, it's really too late now.
oh I'd have no problem selling the HHR, even with the miles on it so thats not a concern. I had listed it for a week and had several serious offers of 13-14K for it but decided to keep it anyways.
sounds like the volvos are piles of ****, thanks for swaying me away.
