Just happened to park the RV next to rich runne. Real good guy.
Lots of beer and many conversations later.
Said he'd hook me up with some good stuff this winter if we want it.
Right now my old *** boat is hanging with Bobby and his mahan power as well as Dylan's old ride.
Ha. Runne's got more pull than me now that he's the majority owner of Jesel. Did he try to get you to move to NJ and work here?
Haha no, no job offers. Me and his kid have the same first name too, so it was easy conversation. He's bumming out because now that his kid got himself an unlimited ride, he doesn't get to be as hands on with the boats.
I ended up 3rd overall for the weekend, right behind the other 2 boats with mahan power. Honestly, I probably could have done better but we hurt the engine. I was running deck to deck with Bobby and lost power on the last turn of the last lap. Cyl5 is dead, I think bent valve. So you may get a phone call sonner than expected.
Had a decent year. Finished 5th in the nation in points. Few first place finishes. Only got ran into one time.
Oh and the engine stayed alive all year. That's the best part.
Brought Cami with me for the last race of the year after she passed.
I found this thread the other day and have been meaning to post a couple of pics. Since it has been raining here all night and morning, I think it's the right time to kill a few minutes.
First is my old girl. I picked her up in late 2019 and have been dumping copious amounts of blood, sweat, tears, and money. Lots and lots of money. She's a 1995 Mako 232 or 221B, depending on who you ask. Recently repowered with a 2023 Mercury 300 V8 that was a factory CPO engine. It had 44 minutes on the clock so basically brand new. Love the engine but not happy right now dealing with an oil leak. There's a million things I've done to her since acquiring her and a million things left to do but for right now, I am just going to put as many hours on her without having to put as many dollars on her. If anyone has any questions about anything you see, let me know. I love talking about boats.
Next are a couple of pics from a fishing trip I took this Thursday with some work colleagues. One of them has a friend with a 2022 Valhalla V37 with triple Merc Verado V8 300's that was nice enough to take us out. We didn't have much luck fishing from 7 to 2 but did have a ton of fun and the weather could not have been better.
And of course, a t-shirt pic acknowledging just how stupid we all are for keeping these toys.
New powerplant for the 2026 season. I rebuilt it myself in the garage over the winter.
They changed the rule, now we can run LS based engines. Specifically the LM7. I got mine on Haltech with a bit of a cam, otherwise it's all stock.
