Default "we're" doing an all miata track event in Texas

Apparently Gary at TDR is doing an all miata event at motorsport ranch in May.

If anyone is interested, let me know. I'd like to see the turbo crew come out, and you can watch me embarrass myself.

I've missed 4 track days so far because of work...I really want to make it to this one. :(

Only 80 cars on this one, with 20 instructors. I'll keep everyone up to date on the goings on.

You should try out the new motorsports ranch in the Houston area. It's owned by a Benz dealer, I believe, but it's a brand new, smooth paved, helluva good time!

It was a great place to test the ol' racecar for free!

How much is it to run out there? Its ******* incredibly expensive up here. $3700 one time, then $100 per month, and $20 per session after that.

He's running the event on the full 3.1 mile course at msr up here.

Depends on who you know, I guess. I've never paid a penny for track time.

i can't get out on any of the 4 local tracks for less than $300 per day, to get4 15 minute sessions, and they all require a nomex suit, nomex shoes, gloves, and they recently decided that convertibles need arm restraints. It will cost me about $460 to do 4 sessions at the least.

I'm about to get sent to Tulsa though, so I'll do a $95, 5-session track day at Hallett every sunday.

Hallett can be a lot of fun in the right weather.

I could drive 40 minutes to a track out here, but I'd rather drive 5 hours to OK so I can show up with a helmet and $100 and have fun all day.

Its fine...I'm always super pissed over the cost. We have 3 new tracks opening up by may, and each one is substantially more expensive then what I discussed. It pisses me off big time. It doesn't help that my sis and her bf are there every ******* weekend.

If I can drug them and convince them to get married, I can get half off the initiation fee.

A few questions before I commit to anything...

1) Location? Dallas?

2) Cost?

3) Rollbar?

4) Wheel-to-wheel or timed?

As much as I'd like to go if it's too far away I'd have to decline since towing the car home is pricey, and it's my only ride right now.

I would need to know the date. My wife is due in May. It would suck to get the call when I was on the track.

Texas Motorsports Ranch (south of Fort Worth)

?$160 i think (I think the first weekend considering their current race calendar)

probably not required

wheel to wheel, with passing zones enforced.

I'll know more when I talk to them when I get back in town.

I'll talk to the guy about how to sign up when I get home, since I don't know any real specific details. Its probably not formalized yet, so please don't pester Gary with questions yet.
