What all grammar nazis aspire to

Hahahaha.
FWIW, he should have said "ignorance of the history and workings of our electoral system". The history and the workings is wordy. |
A little elaborate. I felt the thoughts were drawn out too long, and he tried too hard. Other than that, I actually got a chuckle out of it.

The beginning is also wordy and somewhat confusing. He said "In conclusion, on examining the above post by crackmonkey74, after carefully working my way through the haze of spelling errors..."
From what he says, he examined it after carefully working his way through the haze of spelling errors... But if he worked his way through it already, then he has already examined it. Better, he would have said "In conclusion, after examining the above post by crackmonkey74, carefully working my way through the haze of spelling errors..." This more clearly states what he did and is not as ambiguous. |
