those people formed an underground website that was a loose congregation of miata owners all over the US and parts of the world. most of the topics are banter and humor, though some were really very good. quite a number of the members on that forum were accomplished drivers and very knowledgeable about the car and it's workings.

"pointies", "whine and cheesers" developed from that board because of the inane replies and focus of discussion on m.n. so, say you post asking about piston differences in the 1.8 motor, by about the 5th post, you have someone on m.n spouting the benefits slick 50 or some shit. it becomes abundantly clear that the people replying have no clue what they're talking about.

those people on that underground site are some of my closest friends today. a few are on ths site. a few others still can be found patrolling m.n pointing out the absurd and the ridiculous. we call ourselves darksiders.

KFJ you have broken our cover. I'm afraid we are going to have to resume the lashings. :gay:

What I don't like are the attitudes that most of the MODS have over at miata.net,it just seems that all they do is just babysit the forum and not let anyone have any fun.

We all know about how M.NET works. There are particular MODERATORS I do not care for over there, just like all of us.
Philip keeps a loose string over here, so of course the bantor is not kept on on tight leash like over there.
But still, I think we should keep the negatives out of the picture when it comes to m.net.
They come over here, and we frequent there. So, Please!, let's play nice! :nono:
Thank You ,

Oh boy do I ever disagree with that, there is tons technical knowledge on m.n

I was helping a friend (at the time) install a cam in his car, another guy came over with his probably 5 year old son and he knew the shocker, would do it on command. I suppose he doesn't know what it means tho

You gotta do it for real to get the true meaning. I dont think the 5 year old got it. Man it really does fire it up though,

LOLA I apolagize for my actions earlier.

You guys act like it's fucking East and West Germany. This forum is the side that wants the others abolished and destroyed, and M.net is the side that doesn't even realize the other exists.

No big deal SPIKE!
I tend to think that quite a few of us started out learning everything about the Miata from Miata.Net....
 LOLA

Sorry guys, there is a ton of information in the forced induction forum on miata.net - if you don't want to read it, then it is your loss but I wouldn't put it down. It gets more posts (and more noise) than this board and I'm sure the moderators have many more inmates to keep in line so they may be a little more sensitive.

BTW, I have teeth on my car so nah nah nah on you, Hustler. BUT, your wheels do look great!

Philip 08-15-2006 10:54 PM

sure there's info.
Who cares, let 'em blow off some steam over here.

airbrush1 08-15-2006 11:37 PM

have to say.... I check .net every day.....
Mostly stay in the forced induction and NB forums.... and try to pass on some of my experiences to people who are newer NUB's than i am...

sometimes it's nice to browse a forum and know immediately whether a topic is worth viewing or not.... Theres alot of good info there.... I know it's where I started out! I do enjoy reading more intensely here and at clubroadster than I do at .net..... I pretty much exhausted my mind over there for the first 6 months of Miata ownership... and still head over if I need some quick info on something I know has been covered b4.

But alas.... I have realized that most .net'ers are not exactly what I would consider "kindred miata souls" of mine.... and I most certainly take the majority of blathering over there with a grain of salt....

Why can't we all just get along?

magnamx-5 08-16-2006 12:43 AM

If only we could get markp to jump ship the FI section wouldn't have as much alure to me if i knew i could get his opinions over here. M.net still makes me feel smart sometimes so that is one good thing about it i hope i never have to deal with the mods i seem to fly under there radar or they just don't care whta i post ohwell. I did get deleted on 2 posts one was a poll started by markp after gord suggested corky get a sponsorship or get out. mark imediatly posted a poll asking wether Gary should pay Corky fot being on the forum or just cut him some slack as he wasn't breaking any rules anyway. Gees some people just get to full of themselves.

magnamx-5 08-16-2006 12:47 AM

At least they get more done than CR.net it is a nice place but i expected more ohwell.

MiataNuTca 08-16-2006 10:45 PM

I'm on my second username on Mnet :gay: .....the first one was banned in 98. Something about street racing a Mustang that got me the boot.

Don't get me wrong, Mnet has alot of good info for new owners.....but it becomes either very repetitive with the same questions all the time or it's the ongoing FI soap opera about someones end all, be all supercharger.

--Corky was FM.....Corky pulled out.....now FM has to redesign "their" kits with someone else.

magnamx-5 08-17-2006 12:22 AM

Just couldnt resit the temptation of the fox body huh i dont blame ya roast em.

retro 08-17-2006 07:00 PM

I think it was post #12 "let a playa play" that got it locked.

That post clearly demonstrated that your thread was to "play" and did not have a point. No point = Not a Pointy = Don't belong on Miata.net.

Shame. The paint and wheels look awesome by the way. I even like the sticker, even though I no idea what it was until I read this thread..

gman3 08-18-2006 09:18 AM

"I even like the sticker, even though I no idea what it was until I read this thread"

Further proof that this forum is more informative
