to simply solve gary's FI problem, he really should have banned most of you guys ages ago. he hasn't been enforcing his own rules.

Yep!

Rafa 01-17-2008 02:08 PM

My intention was to stay away from this topic and not "ruffle any feathers". I personally have nothing but praise for the way you "youngsters" at mt.net have treated me. You've been more than fair with me even though I double and (in some cases) triple your ages.

I can't understand what is the thing that rattles you guys so much about the Pc-pro. I did come to the conclusion a long time ago that you guys were right when arguing about going with a stronger EMS. You guys have to realize that there are a lot of older guys (like me) who don't much care about the hassles and frustrations of going the DIY route. Take it from me or ask any older member of your family; it is difficult for people my age to change their set ways as well as to eat some (what do you guys call it?) crow? and ask about issues we don't have a clue about to people much younger than us but in the end, we (the different Miata owners) reach our own conclusions and act accordingly.

You will not find anyone with less mechanical inclination than me. I mean no one! but still when I began following the FI path (BTW, at that time I was reading F1 instead of FI and had to be corrected by a pm sent by another fellow m.net member about what it even meant!) I was convinced that my path would take me the supercharger route. I don't autox, nor do I plan to ever do so but I thought that tuning any FI car in such a place as where I live was going to be a real challenge. In the end I decided to go the DIY route and I must say I'm very pleased with my decision.

I could not be more appreciative of the assistance you guys have provided me but I must say on FFS behalf; I personally like Tom and think he has a market niche to defend. There are indeed fellow miata owners who are satisfied with their ffs supercharged cars.

When you know you're right about something you don't have to scream it. Trust me I know and you guys are on the right track.

Yours is a smaller community but I like the fact that when you tackle an issue about your cars you always get to some conclusions; whether I or anyone else may agree with those is not the issue. The issue is that your discussions usually end up helping those who don't know about things mechanical a tenth of what some of you guys know.

Having said all this, I would only add one small detail; mt.net and m.net are 2 very different communities which is fine and has only helped me immensely along the way. There's room for both forums. I for one thank both. In the end, would you guys imagine what I could've done to my own car if I had not been lucky enough to find both forums?

If I've offended anyone please accept my apologies.

Regards,

Rafa

Thanks but no way! I still know shit about this turbo thing.

Saml01 01-17-2008 03:00 PM

Well I gave my opinion, I dont give a crap if they ban me. They tried before, maybe this time they will succeed.

fourwhls 01-17-2008 03:09 PM

You guys are a bunch of f'ing pricks. I love it!

Just think how much less productive I've been at work since I found this forum.

I do agree with Spaniard. I think Tom and his PC pros have their place in the Miata community. Are they as good as any stand alone? No way. But they do offer a simple solution for the less knowledgeable person. He offers a plug and play solution. It's not the route I or many of you would ever choose, but it's a solution. It's been proven that there is a cheaper, better solution, but it takes knowledge that a lot of people don't and will never have.

After a lot of research, I decided to go SC and with a modified base FFS kit. The mechanics of his kits are top notch, and being a ME I am kinda picky when it comes to fabricated parts. My car spends about 90% of its time on an autocross course and I felt the true coldside was the best solution for what I do. If I were driving this as a DD, toy, or track car, I would have gone turbo no questions asked.

I also do question why some of you haven't been suspended or banned from m.net. Although I really do enjoy reading when you are pushing the envelope.

jayc72 01-17-2008 03:13 PM

Is the issue with the PC-Pro the product or the marketing of it? There is a huge distinction. One deserves mockery, the other not so much.

Who am I kidding, its all about the handlebar mustache.

Braineack 01-17-2008 03:14 PM

the issue really isnt the PC Pro itself, it's how a particular guy happens to market it and utilize it.

Ben 01-17-2008 03:21 PM

I would soooo love to get into that thread, but it's not appropriate for me to do so anymore.

I dont understand why everyone gets so butt hurt over there. seems like no one can take a joke.

its also funny when people get all emotional when someone doesnt give full and complete answers. had i been asking what engine management to use and i was deciding between voodoo and the pc-pro, and one of you guys simply posts.. megasquirt.. i would go look up megasquirt and draw my own conclusions. how effin hard is that? lazy ass people..

cry babies. gary needs to be slapped, let people argue. thats why its a forum...

lol, gary just reprimanded me for being mean. Satire is an art, I've perfected it. If they can't deal with it, they can get fucked. The FM elitist shit gets really old, but that's pretty much the only thing that irritates me over there.

What really pisses me off though is when motherfuckers act like their everyone's daddy. "You better start acting nice or I'm going to ban you."

+1.

Come on guys let it go. People are not dumb (and it they are they deserve what's coming to them:gay:). It sure is marketing related but, and I hope my wife doesn't read this, we're not buying beauty creams and fashion products. I for one try (none too successfully btw) to keep control on what I buy and what for. I wish I'd had fourwheels mechanical knowledge but I don't:gay: (can you tell I love my gay smilie!). I'm still happy with my results though.

hey hey hey, I'm trying here. I mean hell, this Bell kit has only been sitting in my house for 1-year now. Its all starting to come together. Hell, I even drilled a hole for my AIT sensor yesterday...it works better than when it was zip tied to the filter...lol.

The car has to come together in february. Track season starts in march.

Savington 01-17-2008 05:04 PM

Hustler will be the only person to see every component of his Bell kit fail due to corrosion from sitting around too long.

Shit, get the valet at the hotel you live at this week to help you or something.

lol...I'm home this week, and going to Napa next week for a while to chill and drink grape juice. Then I move the next week...then its swap time.

ssshhhhh (still have not turboed sinced I upgraded to my NB)

Scuba_Steve 01-17-2008 07:11 PM

I agree there are some stupid posts on m-net, but it is a different forum than here with a different audience.

A person would be a fool to not recognize there has been a mob mentality on the FI forum, much of coming from here. I think Savington had a couple of well written comments in that thread, some others did not.

jasonrobo02 01-17-2008 09:55 PM

My solution is to come here for FI advice and use the search feature over at m.net for other stuff that has been well discussed such as repair procedures or stuff dealing with soft tops, or basic stuff like that.

I do agree with Savington and whoever else posted suggestions for FAQ Stickies that answer real basic FI questions. I find the stickies here on mt.net to be invaluable and I find myself reading them often.

I think the thread the OP linked to was really good… the one about the dual feed fuel rail. Oh, we are not talking about that anymore?

I do much rather attend this forum the M.net. The BS section is so damn funny, every day (Markp: btw are you a professional satyr writer or something?) and the technical discussion is on a much higher level. M.net has really gone down since I started using it and now I do not even bother to go there. The mods are not reacting at all the noobs posting the same questions everyday and the technical level of the discussion has gone down a lot. It gets boring fast.

That said, some of these “fuck you! No, fuck YOU!” threads here get boring quite fast too. It is just a car forum, ok? It is not so damn personal. Give it a rest sometimes.

Oh, and if you are going to flame me, you need to be really straight forward. English is not my first language, so the little hints just passes me right by, ok? Thanks! :)

I live in South Central Texas, Wurst of many kind are readily available.

A co-worker is my hook-up for homebrew, so quality (potent) Dunkels, Bochs, Ales, Lagers, Abbotts, Porters and even Mead are available.

What I want (especially on a damp, cool day such as this) is a good bowl of Ox Tail Soup and a small loaf of black bread...
