What do you tune with (computer)

I just made my first purchase towards turbodom (besides the last 4 months and a few grand for a rebuild and little bits here and there), which is a Samsung NC10 netbook. Should make a fine machine to run Megatune on. Little over 2lbs and 10.2'' screen, so its tiny, light weight easy to store out of sight in the car. Actual MS will come next. What fun little goodies do you people use? Pictures much welcome. I have no pictures as I just purchased it online earlier today.

I use my Dell Latitude D620 to tune. It's my everyday laptop and has a serial cable. Damn thing costed a fortune new, but works well overall. No pictures though. At one point I bought a cheap old laptop to use to tune for MS, but I sold it since I didn't really need it as I already have a laptop.

Ive never had a laptop, or had a need for one till now. I would have gone cheap and used, but since Netbooks are somewhat reasonable in price, I figured why not. Might as well go all out while Im doing it. Might even be handy for other things. Steal someones wireless connection while out and about tuning around town to download maps :fawk: Take that hippies.

Vintage gateway.

I used an old Dell Latitude CPx that I bought from a forum member for $50. I was using my $1500 Dell but didn't like the wear and tear I was putting on it.

The standard issue hp/compaq 6910p that almost everyone is given at my school. The art majors get a macbook.

Dell E1505, my only computer. The batteries suck and Vista pisses me off sometimes, but everything else is great.

I finally got my VPN client to work with Vista today, so Im happy!

Well my Miata isn't computer compliant yet. But my GSXR 1000 had a Yoshimura EMS that I used an old Compaq lap top running win 98 to tune. If I get MS for the Miata I will use the same lap top if at all possible :D

I think that is how I holed a piston, tweaked the map a little too much.

I use a Dell C400. It's a 12 inch monitor laptop thats great for tuning. Little and gets the job done. I bought it off a forum member here.

I know Paul uses a Fujitsu Stylistic to tune his now. He just picked that up a couple months ago. He was happy with it as far as I remember.

asus eeepc 900ha. 9 inch screen, light, about 4 hours of battery, 160gb harddrive, 2gb ram. It's actually become my only computer. I have another 15" laptop that I haven't used since I got this.

Do you have any trouble tuning with such a small screen?

Thats what Im hoping for. I made the mistake of buying a pre built desktop recently instead of building my own like I said I would only do from now on, and HATE IT! Im hoping this little guy will be my only computer. I went with the Samsung because of the battery life, which everything I see so far says 5-7 hours while using wireless connection and running multiple apps. Should be handy for playing around on the net while on the toilet :crx:

Gateway CX210X -- it's a 15" widescreen tablet. Have two batteries so I get ~5 hours battery life. Thing is, I'm running an EMB with a serial->USB adapter, which doesn't work under vista 64, so I have an xp32 virtual machine that I pass the EMB through to. Works like a charm then.

cueball1 02-20-2009 01:35 PM

Kaypro 64 for portability. Home PC is a Commodore.

Only the old guys around here might remember those!

Saml01 02-20-2009 01:58 PM

IBM X60s.

Best laptop out of everything listed so far. It rides in the trunk and I charge it once a month.

thirdgen 02-20-2009 02:16 PM

Acer Aspire 1 Notebook. Paid $300 for it brand new at best buy. Perfect little computer for tuning.
