Default Anybody have experience with 12v ceramic heaters?

My beater truck's heat doesn't work and i'm not fixing it. But i do need heat for the winter. So i was just thinking about getting one of those direct-wire 25amp ceramic heaters. Anyone ever use one?

I used one in the old '86 suburban I was given for my last winter at home to plow snow. I'm from Alaska of course and it was definitely necessary. I wired a toggle switch in it of course because mine didn't have one on the housing. Just make sure you mount it appropriately and put some sort of fuse inline with it to keep it from going over board. I would hate to see one get way to hot for some ungodly reason, fall from its mount and catch the cab on fire.

Heck, i wasn't thinking straight, mine was a metal box not one of these nice ones. http://www.autobarn.net/halinheat.html Which looks like it would work great mounted on the floor next to your legs for just you atleast.
Mine was more like this but hardwired to my system and i toggled it in the dash because it was mounted in the very back of the rig to keep my groceries from getting too cold when i had to drive 460 miles roundtrip to go to the nearest Fred Meyer and Sams Club.

Depending on the cab of your truck and how cold it gets i get one like the last one i posted.
