Where to rent an auto trailer?

I have always borrowed a trailer when I needed to tow a car. I had a nice double axle that I used for a while, but the owner moved away. Since then I've been renting from UHaul when I had to, but they have been only short distance pulls. The Uhaul trailers always have crap tires and weigh 2000 lbs.
I'm considering picking up a car that's 300 miles away. My tow vehicle will be a Montero Sport or a Chevy Colorado, neither are "real" tow vehicles, but are fine for short distance towing.
Does anyone have a source to rent a trailer for a day or two that would be lighter than the 2000lb Uhaul trailer? The car that's going on it is a ~2500 lb miata.
Thanks

No, this car needs to be on a flatbed (broken suspension).

Yeah I'll probably end up getting one from uhaul, problem is they really suck and are very heavy at 2000 lbs. Would like to find one 500 or so lbs lighter. If I had a real truck for a two vehicle, it wouldn't matter that much.
Budget won't rent a trailer unless you rent one of their trucks to tow it with. Bastards.

huh, no ****? oh well.
don't forget a comealong to wench the ****** up unless it runs.
anyway for 300 miles I wouldn't sweat it. even some light duty SUVs can tow 5,000 pounds these days. check the manual.
