Miata is always down for some project or another. Couldn't imagine using it for a dd.

My miata is my daily driver, and will continue to be, but won't be turbo until end of may/early june. Going to buy a corolla or something for a winter beater this year. I dragged mine through two ohio winters because I couldn't afford a second car before. Poor thing, I feel for it. Only has 86.6kmiles on it though now.

Turbo is still on the spare motor in the floor. But I drive that car everywhere. I just drove it to Arkansas and back in two days. Sometimes I drive it 9hrs to NE. AR., and Memphis area.
My chevy truck gets 17-18 mpg on the highway. That VS 30mpg VS $3.29 gallon.
Only negative is the Tx potrol loves to stop riced bright yellow miatas. I did nothing wrong and was pulled over out of a line of vehicles.

Im just fortunate that he didn't ask me to touch my toes.

could be a daily driver if i wanted to pour miles onto it.

but it's semi-daily and I'd call it reliable enough to daily. and I have a 26 mile each way commute. I drove it today in fact.

it didn't SMOKE or GO LEAN or SIT IN THE GARAGE or anything weird on the way to the dyno day last weekend!

that said, the maintenance schedule is very different from a stock miata. eg. the clutch service is biennial.

Mine is but being a mazdaspeed with a factory turbo I don't know if it would be part of the consideration for what you are seeking to asses. Make the drive a lot more pleasent

I would drive mine more but I'm waiting for my headlights to get finished up. Since my friend is fabbing things for beer I am in no place to place demands.

I drive mine everyday as long as it isnt raining when I leave the house. I drive 50 miles a day and have put about 20k on the last year and a half, 10k of that boosted. Its about to hit 190k and still running strong.

Mines been a daily driver since it was new/stock, turbo went on in 2000, still a daily driver. So right at 8 years with the GREDDY and IC going down the road. I am not a high mileage person, right at 8K per year, have 103K miles at this time, half of it with the turbo.

DD all year long. I've got a Dodge Ram for when it's raining hard, but even though my Miata has been down for about 6 months of the past 2 years since I've turbo'd, I've still put 14k miles on it. The Dodge has 6k miles but about 3k of that is pullin' the boat.

My 99' GMC Envoy was my daily driver. That blew the motor so the miata has been the daily driver for going on 4 years now. The first year I had the miata it was N/A. So close to 4 years and 25k miles turbo'd.

I sometimes take it to the job when I'm not in the mood to take one of the concrete covered work trucks. My shop is only about 2 miles from my house, and when I lived at the farm the car basically sat the whole year. Now I'm back into it again.

Damn, I thought the mustang community was bad for having cars sitting on jackstands. Looks to me the same in the mazda turbo community.

If there's no forcast for rain or salt on the road, I will drive the Miata. Turns out I put about the same miles on the miata as the OTM.
