Who's at work?
IT guy for the federal gov't so I'm always on vacation.
Actually I'm in at work today just to clear out some old email jobs. Most people here take "use or lose" leave through the end of the year so it's a graveyard here.

Worked yesterday, and here today.
Missed my daily dose of MT.net yesterday as the whole friggin network was down, but I got a lot of work done instead. Today I plan on surfing and making my turbo plans a little more cohesive.
Took tomorrow for vacation, and plan on battling with other last minute shoppers.

Work in IT for the Federal Government as well...everything seems to be slow...so the Government decided to give us a shitload of work earlier than we were supposed to. No lie...last week they broke a few things because we weren't busy enough.
I'm doing design work right now for structures(tables, workbenches, crane stands, carts and racks) for our machine, manufacturing and coating departments.
It's like a bunch of homework problems from statics and materials, but I get to do the drafting and see them built and used as well.
Needless to say it CAN get boring, and drive me to daydream of BOOOOOST!

Working... sort of... this is supposed to be the slowest time of year but the company is switching our main program to a "better" program. So everything is hectic and shitty.
As far as the workload goes, it seems to me more people think they are sick now, than in the summer. Especially a day or two before a holiday. Quit going to the hospital to get your blood tested people! I don’t want to work on Christmas

I do IT support and installations for Verizon. I travel around the country a lot but haven't in the last few weeks. Travel won't pick up again until end of January. I spent yesterday setting up my department directors laptop to dual boot vista and Xp pro because our VPN doesn't support vista. Needless to say it took me my entire 8 hr shift
. I can't wait to go south or west again though cuz it is too damn cold here.
I have today and the rest of the week off. Then back to work on Monday.

It took forever, and cost precious study time as my bosses now knew I could work from whereever and whenever.
BUT, VirtualPC2007 by Microstiff has plenty of Vista support and is free :-)
Either way...I understand the need to waste an entire paid day...as I said before...working for the Feds

Well, the problem with the government is...our Email system will ONLY run on XP...and they moved the Laptops over to Vista - makes NO SENSE!!! Either way...I understand what you mean...I was just pointing it out.
Working all day Christmas Eve. Visiting a customer right now who is grilling on three barbecue trailers for his company Christmas picnic. Now I will smell like smoke all day. Supposed to be 80 degrees and sunny today, and I'm running the A/C in my truck to keep cool.
If I didn't want to have access to my laptop and all of the other goodies in my truck, I could have driven the Miata. It would have been a great day for a top down ride. I'm glad the cold snap is over.

we are off for the rest of the week, but i was the unlucky sonuvabitch who got stuck with being on call for Friday. But even worse, they transferred the phones to my cell when we left at noon today, so I'm basically on call for the rest of the day today and the next two days.
bullshit.
bullshit.
