Why is it...
that people with a 90 NA think their car is worth the same money as say.. a 99 with similar miles?
Where are all the dirt cheap NA's? |
Evidentally hiding. I'm in the market as well.
|
good luck dudes, not gonna happen
you have to find an old lady that broke her knee and now has to drive a buick in order to get a good deal on decent NA...almost impossible |
we even put decent money on them as trade ins.... it's a pain in the ass, I always chech at work to see if we get any traded in that are cheapish, but it never seems to happen
|
at my old job, we had a 91 come in on trade, ran like shit, but good body, no hard top, we put 1500 on it...i was like whaaaaaaa

http://detroit.craigslist.org/car/455723617.html There are a couple winners from my area. I have noticed lately that everyone thinks their stuff is worth 1.5 or 2 times what it is actually worth. It could be just here in MI though. |
I live in canada there are cheap ones. I bought mine for 5grand and it has 160,000kms on it, no rust mint. I use the website www.autotrader.ca
|
you just have to look long enough.
my first miata had a Greddy kit on it and a torsen and i picked it up for $1000. My second miata was free. I gave it to my dad. My third miata was ALSO free, but it's more of a parts car than anything. |
It took me a while to find one in good shape for a fair price. I paid 2k for mine with 168k on it. I would bet as early NA's in good shape become more rare the price will actually go up a bit.

And the 90 is the most because it is the first year the miata came out. Neighbor and his buddy bought one for 6 grand with hard top the other was a 97 for 7 grand with hard top both no rust and low kms. I think the 90's will go up in price even more eventually if you have one and keep it in good condition with low kms.

^That's crazy talk. It's just a car and will never be a collector... like my neighbor who bought a first year BMW Z3 and drove it about 100miles a month because he swore it would be collectible... then the second year they put the inline-6 motor in it and his dropped in value overnight.
http://norfolk.craigslist.org/car/485988503.html Granted it's had a lot of recent work... but he also conveniently didn't list the mileage so you know it's a lot. $6200 for a stock '90... I want what he's smokin'! |
the PITA of it all is that mazda sold just enough of these things to keep them from being a classic while not selling quite enough so i can find a damn driver's side fender in a junk yard. lol.
|
I know of a few relatively cheap ones.
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...b3a0b3ecbf564a http://localsalesnetwork.com/listing...ks/199118.html Both have serious issues though. Atlanta craigslist has cheap ones pretty often. Keep your eye open. |

l o l..... prices are up because of all the drifter idiots grabbing them up.... like 240's and Corollas (btw,i stopped doing any drifting awhile back and can't change my name). Not to mention that people with "low milage" NA's think its some kinda collectable shit. I saw some guy on m.net with a 4,000mi 93 and was thinking he could sell it for like $15k. So i did a NADA price and it was like $4000 hahaha

90 is the least desirable year to me, unless it's had an engine replacement. Shit, I only paid 8 for my 96 in 2001, I am sure as hell not paying 6 for a 1990 in 2007! and that car only had 23k miles. |

I paid 7600 for my '99 with all the turbo setup, stereo and wheels? You can find cheap cars. Just have to wait and look.
