Woe is me

It's 70, sunny, blue sky. Miata is in the garage, wearing the hard top, and unable to drive. Totally gay

Braineack 02-27-2007 12:55 PM

join the club, i mean, who here actually doesn't have the car on jackstands :gay:

jayc72 02-27-2007 01:03 PM

Mine is covered in a foot of snow :( Stupid fucking Canadian.

Ben 02-27-2007 01:09 PM

Eh, well went ahead and snapped the oem ecu into its harness. Amazingly it started up and ran. Not entirely elegant, not entirely efficient, but it'll work. Here's how it ran (first start, cold, not been run since Sunday)
Yes, that's a 1.6, factory ecu, factory unmodified/unmolested afm.

TwoScoopsofHooah 02-27-2007 01:40 PM

@ least your not stuck in Iraq waiting to build a engine! :D man I miss driving..only a couple of more months :D

getsidewaysd1 02-27-2007 02:07 PM

Mine has been sitting in a parking lot since October waiting patiently.

expensivehobby22 02-27-2007 02:33 PM

Mine is on 4 jackstands and the poor rx-7 is outside with snow on it. But yeah, at least I'm not in Iraq, only Detroit (although that may be temporary with the way things are going here...)

Best of luck out there TwoScoopsofHooah

y8s 02-27-2007 02:40 PM

mine runs fine.

no turbo ftw?

I couldn't take it today though, had to carry crap. someone bought my IC setup.

FSTASNTZ 02-27-2007 02:48 PM

Drove mine today... been too busy to do any work to my Miata, or else it would currently be on jack stands.

That idle sounds sick. :D

96rdstr 02-27-2007 03:28 PM

Sunny day in Tampa, no jackstands, no snow, no insurgents...FTW!!!

Took some better pics of the car this weekend, top down of course!

Newbsauce 02-27-2007 04:31 PM

Mine has one 15" wheel and 3 17"s.. its rocking a gangster lean, but it kind of moves!

cjernigan 02-27-2007 04:48 PM

Drove mine today in the warm weather, top down, turbo working great. Then i put it back up on jackstands where it belongs to put new axxis ultimates, rotors, and ATE super blue in her.

Braineack 02-27-2007 05:16 PM

Me too, it was a nice day today, and no classes.

But it'll be back up on jackstands to make sure everything is tight before the first autox in forever this weekend

SamS 02-27-2007 05:48 PM

Mine's sitting on top of 4" of snow, I had to brush another 8" off of it this morning. We're supposed to get another foot of snow this week.

Spring break starts next Friday, so I'll get it home in our heated garage and put in my 315cc injectors. Maybe I'll find out what no traction in 5th gear is like.:bigtu:

akaryrye 02-27-2007 06:42 PM

both of mine are off the stands thankfully. I generally get a project done and the car back on the road as quickly as possible.

Awesome, where's the autocross at? I'll be going to the dragon this weekend on my way to Charleston, SC. Bunch of us are going that way.

TheBandit 02-27-2007 06:55 PM

Mine has been on stands for about a month or so now. Finally lowered back down last weekend. Maybe I will get to drive it this weekend. :x:

411 dragway, same place I got my 1/8th mi time. its only about 15min from UT. There are actually 2 races on sat and sunday, first by porsche club, second by the SVT Mustang club. They're turning it into a dirt track, this will be the last autocross there. I've done it once before, was a blast.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...=411+autocross

Oh yeah and next weekend is the first ETR (local region SCCA) autox.

cjernigan 02-27-2007 08:38 PM

Man that looks awesome, I'm looking forward to trying to run a couple autocrosses at Nashville Motorspeedway (name?) later this spring.

haha i put one of my rotas on and lowered the car to see what they look like, then raised her skyhigh so I can finish off my butterfly brace install:cool:

olderguy 02-27-2007 09:29 PM

My '91 hasn't been off the ground for anything but fluid and tire changes during the past 12K miles. Even went on a couple of runs last week. I'm a happy camper:gay:

m2cupcar 02-27-2007 09:33 PM

Mine's on the wrong side of a 40 ft. trench running down the driveway.

y8s 02-28-2007 12:11 AM

^^^^

which reminds me, last time I changed the oil I didn't even jack the car up :gay: I juuuuust had enough room to slide the oil pan under it and get the drain plug out :)

I usually drive up on 2 2x4s and that's plenty of clearance for on the ground oil changes.

GTS Miata 02-28-2007 02:43 PM

The beauty of having no money for mods... I drove to/from work yesterday and today with the top down!

unless you've got my luck....then you're stuck at school 200 miles from your miata because it has a blown rear-diff that you can't afford to replace!!:vash:

showoff :bigtu:

cjernigan 02-28-2007 04:30 PM

One day I too hope to have a lift. That will require me graduating, getting a good job, and buying/building a house to my liking that will have a tall enough ceiling for one.

Edit: Just noticed there's no beer in that picture, what kind of tech day was that? :)

RicanmiataRacer 02-28-2007 05:36 PM

mine is runing, but witout the turbo right now........

UofACATS 02-28-2007 06:58 PM

Your right it wasn't much of a tech day, it was our first one...

As much as I drink, I don't operate the lift or this: while under the influence...
(yes that is a delrin head w/run flat arms :))

rotaryjunky 02-28-2007 08:19 PM

I spent an afternoon clearing out my driveway and we got another foot two days later. I am seriously sick of this shit. I let out my aggression on the civic, gonna need some new snow tires.

SamS 02-28-2007 08:36 PM

We've got a blizzard and another foot coming tomorrow.:td:
