World Cup 2010 thread
SPAIN just scored!
I really thought Germany would show...but stats say only three other semifinals have gone past the 70th minute scoreless, and all three of those teams to make the first goal went on to win.

I guess the German octopus was right in his choice afterall... http://edition.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/fo...id=DDbvOZQtgKI
So now, come Sunday either way, one of the two biggest perpetual underperformers/chokers will go home with a World Cup, and it will be a first for either. Really though, we'll get to watch two of the best teams ever to not have a WC win.
I honestly think it will be a better game to watch, as well as the consolation game. I'd much rather watch Germany play Uruguay than Holland. The final would have been as boring as today's game...

Never argue with octopi. I was wrong.
The Netherlands/Uruguay game was far better. Germany was soooo flat in this game it was miserable. Somebody held a match in Durban and nothing happened. Spain had several really nice goal opportunities where they didn't score and the ball spent the vast majority of its time on the German half of the field. Germany didn't even play good defense. They certainly didn't play like it was for the world cup.

I propose they send it to us and we'll find a good thing to do with it (we love to eat them hehe).
With regards to the game: the Spanish players have been playing together for a long time. They do some things automatically. It's really hard to take away the ball from them. Don't forget also that most of the Spanish players play for Barcelona and there is all around consensus about that team as the best in the world these last 3 years.
My good friend left for Spain(and other nations) today and I'm super jealous. At least he'll only be attending medical conferences with his mom while he's there! I bet I'll get some drunk texts though ahaha, just like old times.

is as if someone turn the button from on to off.
