Default Xmas came early, I am such a freakin' geek.

Two HP-W2207 Monitors and a NVidia 8600 512mb GT Overclocked Card.

Now I can surf Firedog's websites and still answer email at the same time.

geeks are ok. i built four high-end head-mounted VR displays over the last week. next weekend is our big show.

they're dual LCoS SXGA near-to-eye displays with a 60 degree field of view. we'll also be showing a new product with 120ish degree FOV.

it's kinda like sitting in the first row or two of an IMAX movie, only it's on your head.

http://www.iitsec.org/ is the show. anyone in/near orlando? besides rican.

EDIT ~ I checked out the video on the main page. It looks like it's next week, but I'm leaving on Friday. Looks pretty cool though

I just picked up two 1tb drives from cc.com for $200 each - more space for the "media library"

nice. the new directv hr20-700 has an esata port to hook an external HD so you can increase your capacity.

That's smart. I hacked my tivo, then moved on to ReplayTV and finally went with the HTPC running snapstream apps. No hidef stuff yet. I'm waiting for a true digital pc (decoder/card) tuner solution. That and probably pc upgrade - something at "gamer" level I'm sure.

Right now I've got movies, music, videos, photos and dvds spanning a 500 & 250, and space is running out. I'm actually going to leave those in the htpc and set these drives up as a mirror raid NAS. I can then access it when I'm outside of the house. Will serve well for work stuff too.

LOL, well I may not be a "Baller" and I don't have a mad 58 inch set, but I am pretty happy with these 22" units... **** looks better than ever. My Plasma is only a 42" and my LCD HDTV is only a 32". Somehow I manage.

I have a 37 LCD in the bedroom and a 65 RPTV in the living room. Next spring I think I'll get a 55 or 60" for the livingroom

I have such very little sympathy...

Of my four machines at home:

The primary machine is a socket 478 P4-2.4, 1GB, 300GB, using the on-board VGA, SND, and LAN.

The Media PC in the living room is a socket 754 Sempron 3100+, 512MB, 500GB, using on-board SND (S/PDIF) and LAN, and a $20 AGP video card (64MB GEForce 440). It's driving my 55" HDTV set (3CRT RP) through a friggin' S-video (Y/C) port, since my TV is an eight year old first-gen unit with no VGA, no HDMI, no DVI, and no Firewire. Just composite, component, and S. I've tried two different methods to try and generate a usable 480p component output from the computer, neither of which worked for ****. If anybody had a good quality VGA-Component converter or a good AGP card with a component output they want to sell, lemme know.

The tertiary machine is a POS Compaq Presario with a Celeron 2.7, 256MB, 80GB, and it doesn't have an AGP or a PCIx slot.

The CarPC is a P3-400, 128MB, 6GB, and an 800x600 display.

Pong, anyone?
