Matt and Tim from MTMotorsport are going to be heading down on Thursday with the Ecotec swapped Miata. The swap kit is now ready and they'll have parts with them for show and tell.

I'll have a couple cases of paper towels to clean up drool....

I am in as of right now but I may miss the caravan down there - for a good (positive) reason. I will make a quick note in my build thread.

It all boils down to wither or not my boss will let me take PTO after the big block of PTO I am already taking. When all is said and done IF I go on the caravan I will be only working about 8 days in July.

 

I'm in, arriving Wednesday and staying through Sunday this year. There are 12 of us staying at Dragons Rest Cabins this year instead of Fontana. The only thing we'll miss is the beer swap but we'll just have our own.

 

We'll have to figure out how we're going to meet up Thursday morning for the GA run, then. We'll be there same time frame, but at Fontana.

As of right now, it'll be myself, Vteckiller2000, btabor, and a local buddy with a 93 LE all getting in on Wednesday to do the GA run with you dudes on Thursday if that's still happening/is cool.

 

It looks like we're doing Six Gap on Friday instead due to some scheduling conflicts with a few people in our group. We are planning on something else fun for Thursday though which you guys are more than welcome to join.

Just got word from a trusted local source, THP will be cracking down HARD(read: drag racing tickets) for awhile. It may last through July, even through August.

PLEASE keep it in check, especially during peak hours.

 

Circumstances have changed quite a bit since I started this thread. I am still planning on attending but I have to see if my boss will allow me to disappear for another couple days. I am currently on the last day off of an 11 day stretch and if I leave to the Gap next week on Wednesday I will be back only six work days before disappearing again. That MIGHT be too much to ask for.

Also, if I am heading down Wednesday I will be heading to Winder Georgia to pick up my girlfriend at her place on Thursday morning and likely not returning until Friday morning to save money on a hotel.

I am still trying to make it work but this current vacation has tapped my resources quite badly.

 

Look for me - I'll be towing my daily up. Can't miss it. Staying in Fontana i think - with the Salvagewon crew (guys who strip everything of they can and cage it)... ratrod caged miata if you would.

 

Cool! I really want to see a Salvagewon car in person.

Also, I am bringing a GMRS radio and CB radio for the trip. We should also trade phone numbers in case we get separated so we can link back up.

Change of plans again, we realized only 3 people/2cars in our group are showing up before Thursday evening so we decided to do the Thursday 6G run after all. Since the route takes everyone right past Dragon's Rest on 129S we'll just jump in behind the pack as you pass by.

 

We'll be coming up Friday, not sure what time we'll arrive.
