Default 2k10 Supra nationals in Texas: anyone going?

Would be funny to see some supras getting spanked by some miatas

The road racing/driver's education event for TX2K10 will be held at Grandsport Speedway.

We will be running the 1.4 mile long Mako Circuit:

From the host hotel take I-10 East towards Houston. Stay on I-10 east for approximately 4 miles and exit Beltway 8 and travel South (go right). Stay on Beltway 8 for approximately 30 miles until you get to I-45. Please note that Beltway 8 is a pay toll. Exit I-45 and travel South. You will stay on I-45 for approximately 18 miles. Stay on I-45 towards Galveston. Exit on Exit 15, continue straight through the light staying right onto FM 2004 that runs parallel to the dog track. Continue down FM 2004 for about 5 miles right through Hitchcock until you see four large concrete pillars on your left. The track is behind these pillars. About one half of a mile past Blimp Base Rd turn left through the gate beside the GrandSport Speedway sign. You are now on the new site of GrandSport Speedway.

Gates Open: 8:00 am

Mandatory Driver's Meeting: 8:30 am

First Cars On Track: 9:00 am

Cost per Car: $180 via cash, check or MO. If you wish to send me payment, please PM me and I will respond with my address. You can also use paypal...paypal $186 to [email protected] (NON REFUNDABLE - however if your plans change you can sell your spot to someone else). No charge for spectators. Also, I am working on transponder details, stay tuned...

Each driver will get ATLEAST 2 hours of track time...

Classes and Format:

Beginner - if you've never run a road course before or if you feel like you need an instructor in your car to teach you the track. It will be up to the instructor to allow you to run alone and to decide if you are qualified enough to do so.

Advanced - if you have 3 previous SCCA or other sanctioned body road course/driver's education events under your belt. This class is also for those that would like a transponder and would like to be part of the time attack event.

Time Attack Details:
At the end of the day, those who have paid for a transponder (info coming) will have a chance to run the time attack. The fastest 5 cars will battle it out at the end of the day for the time attack 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies.

OK, I think I've covered everything here, please feel free to post any questions and please get your money in ASAP!!!!

Entrants Paid To Date (12/9/09) - Maximum of 20 Beginners and 20 Advanced (40 total)

I'm giving it a little thought. If I do, I'm definitely going to go over and talk smack on the supraforums beforehand

Great job posting the date.

I'd love to run this track but I'm pretty tired of fighting for real estate with slower cars after the last 3 days at the track that involved various ********* block, brake checking, and general ******ry.
