CHICAGOLAND DYNO DAY -- SUN OCT 20th
As the title states we are putting together a dyno day/ get together. Eligible cars include Miatas and BP powered cars (Proteges,323s,Escort GTs and such).
This is a great opportunity for the Miata community to get together. Show up and lets see how your project/build is going.
Forum member Stick (Matt) is friends with Mondo, the owner of ILL Garage, who has graciously allowed to be open on a Sunday to host this event. His address is:
ILL Garage
827 S. Rohlwing Rd.
Addision, IL. 60101

We will be limiting the number of cars on the dyno to 10 cars because it takes about 30-35 minutes per car. Cars have to by driven to the event and be ready to go when your turn is called. You will have a chance to make minor changes during your three pulls (you have about 1/2 hr window)
Costs:
If we get 7 cars it will cost you $60 per car.
If we get 10 cars the price drops to $50 per car.
(If someone wants actual tuning done, it will be available at the end of the dyno day for $100/hr (normally $150/hr))
I will start two lists. A "Yes I'm going and have the time and money set aside"
and B "If somebody drops out/ doesn't show up -- I'm next"

This should be a great time and a chance to meet other MT.net'ers in your area. Some grilled food will be provided, but bring your own beverage and something for the grill.

I think we should give first opportunity to the mt.net people first (NA-NB motor related stuff) and then see how the slots fill up. Then as a kinda spin-off gathering type of event to see what others are doing with their Miata's and to get ideas to further builds over the winter.

Depending on the status of the Government shutdown I may or may not be there. I'm still in the reserves, so right now all our activity is cancelled but if not I have to do my "1 weekend a month" play Sailor thing on that day.
I hope they drag this shutdown out. I want to be there SOOOOO bad!
I haven't had my car dyno'd since I added boost, so I've been dying to know how much (or little) HP I'm throwing down. Maybe I'll be there anyway...

Hey 2manyhobyz thanks for posting this for me Im hoping to make this a pretty good event. Though im not running my car I will be personally donating my time to this event, helping setup cars and whatever else needs to be done to keep all parties happy. I have known mondo for a few years now and can say that as far as shops and owners go, he is by far the most helpful and reasonable guy to work with on any project.
And also it doesnt matter if anyone here is dynoing or not that Sunday feel free to show up and hangout as well.

Actually, if I can get some help before hand making sure my VVT actual minimum and maximum is correct and make sure my boost PID is as good as it's going to get I would get a lot more out of the dyno day. Anyone willing to meet that is comfortable going through those processes before hand? I'll buy dinner (or drinks if it is a handful if guys).
