How'd it go?
Ben- thanks for the help, though futility prevailed. Turns out that the 99+ trans has fore/aft posts in the shifter turret so the 90 shifter won't work... unless I cut/chop out the rear posts/stud. Everything is done- just need a 99/NB shifter.

I thought only the 6 speed had the 2 posts? I had a KGWorks short shifter I took out of my 96 and put it right in my 99 with no problems. (hell, it might have had 2 notches in it and i didn't realize it)

Meet went very well. ~15 Miatas showed up, 5 S2Ks and a good number of people. Good to meet you Ben :)

Sorry I couldn't be more help. What ended up being wrong with the clutch slave?

m2cupcar 09-22-2008 07:36 AM

Oh well. I'll make the next one, if this trans lasts. ;) Thanks for the pics.

Hell if I know. Some how it was pressurized. I back off the line nut and it the piston slid right in. It's totally smooth so I let it be. But I don't see how a clutch line/system could hold pressure in the slave. I've got a spare now if it fails.
