I'm driving from Knoxville to Road Atlanta Friday morning, via the Tail of the Dragon. Beyond the Dragon, theres a few ways to go through the woods - anyone have a hint as to what's the most entertaining route? Do I stay on 129, or is 28 better, etc???

You can jump off 129 after you get into Georgia (about 2 miles past and take 180/60 down to Dahlonega and 60 into Gainesville over to 52...it's a little more fun than taking 129 all the way to 985. If you have any questions on exactly what the route is, let me know. When you look it up, it'll be pretty obvious.

Yeah, head towards Blairsville. I forget the road names, probly the same route doppel is talking about. There's a really fun 3-lane section, worth the drive just for that lol.

I would join you but Im heading to Greenville,SC to meet with my dad and pick up the 97 tonight, then heading to Atlanta tomorrow morning.

Hey, which way are you going home and when are you leaving?

I'm going to take the 19/129 route home back to Knoxville, leaving around 3-3:30, get to the dragon around 6-7.

I've checked your car out a couple of times, you haven't been around, looks good!

Man, I would have loved to do the Dragon again, but we needed to make time back to NY, and wound up blowing out of town at 8am via boring old 85. I'm hoping I can make it back down for MATG in July.
