Sounds good I'll see ya Saturday!

kotomile 03-18-2009 12:08 AM

Cool, Saturday it is then. 3 in so far for the Hawaiian place.

I did the Skip Barber 3 day Mazdaspeed school last weekend. Laguna might have me spoiled, now. This track exceeded expectations!

I'll be out there this weekend, trying to get seat time and ride alongs.

kotomile 03-18-2009 11:53 AM

thesnowboarder 03-18-2009 05:18 PM

LOL I am 20 miles from you

hustler 03-19-2009 04:52 PM

so did all you queers meet up and rub cocks together yet?

kotomile 03-19-2009 08:21 PM

Found the website of this place, y'all can check out the menu in advance if you like. Hula's Monterey

The main advantage to this place, other than the food being kickass, is that it's relatively unknown and most of the tourists pick Fisherman's Wharf to eat at, Qckslvr can back me up on that, I'm sure.

FW is a huge trap, unless you are in dire need of the best clam chowder in CA stay away from FW.

We just overnighted 2 Coolant Re-route kits to Emilio @ 949 Racing. He will have them on display at this event.

I have an extra radiator fan from my old car, not sure if its the "main" one I could bring it if you want. Maybe figure out if it's the one you need first somehow

If you are coming down Friday PM me. There is a body shop here in Salinas that has about 10-15 Miatas at all times. And at least 4-5 of them are parts cars, he sells stuff off them pretty cheap. :D

Emilio is bringing me a lower shift boot too! w00t!

kotomile 03-20-2009 07:36 AM

Will do, snowboarder. The organizer told me I might get to work grid at some point so I'll definitely be able to see everyone if that happens. :)

kotomile 03-21-2009 02:18 AM

Met a few of you at registration tonight. Good times.

I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to come to the Hawaiian place. I'm working this thing, so if they need me at the banquet (dunno why they would, but you never know) I'll be there. Otherwise, I'm down for Hulu's.

j_man 03-22-2009 01:30 PM

So, whose Miata among all had the fastest time?

kotomile 03-22-2009 10:58 PM

They weren't officially timing since it wasn't officially a race, for insurance purposes. I saw Savington time a lap while I was in his car though. I'd say it's down to him or the Rotrex'd 949 car.

Today was a blast, too! I rode with Savington, as I just mentioned, rode with an instructor in an n/a car w/ suspension work, and rode with Keith Tanner in the Targa. I also snagged a ride in the first car in the parade laps, the '09 NC2, and then drove that around during the parade a bit.

I have a few more pics, will post later. Need to let the adrenaline settle now...

Looking forward to videos!

curly 03-22-2009 11:15 PM

You know what, F you Koto, and F you too Savington, you might as well be off having dinner and a hotel room with Jessica Alba or Mrs. Jolie. I mean a lap in the Targa with Keith? Seriously? F you guys, in your own back yard none the less. So f'ing jealous its not even funny. Did you check out Keith's proportioning valve placement? All my idea I'll have you know.

BTW, $90 for four 30 min sessions at PIR for me this February, eat it.
