MoHud hpde at Monticello Full Course 9/24/10!
Well it is Official. Mohud is hosting a PDX.

MMC is NOT Renting the Full Course to Clubs in 2011. This may be your last chance to Drive the FULL COURSE without an expensive membership!
What is a PDX -- SCCA's version of an HPDE. BMWCCA Drivers school etc.
Where -- Monticello Motor Clubs Full course -- Monticello NY --about 1.5 to 2 hours south of Albany on a challenging 3.8 mile road course.

Who -- Mohud SCCA with a lot of help from Patroon BMWCCA
When -- Friday Sept 24th, 2010
Why --SCCA's First event at Monticello Motor Club and giving all SCCA members an opportunity to drive on the track and learn new things about their car and themselves.
Who can particpate: Any SCCA member with a valid Drivers license in a car that meets the safety requirements. ( $15 temp Membership available)
So...... Solo drivers, club racers, Club race crew members or family, Rally drivers, Flaggers, Grid workers, track addicts etc etc.
How much: Students $250 for the day. For a combination of classroom and in car instruction in a street legal car or falling into the classes listed in TT rules. ( No Tube Frame or open wheel cars allowed)

PLEASE NOTE -- I am still working on some details --so more to follow. But at this point I expect Production based automobiles prepared in excess of the rules to be allowed in the Advanced and Instructor classes!
Instructors will be needed --More info on registration etc to follow.

Ok, my first posting for this was directly quoting the organizer/Event Chair.
For Miata guys, listen up. MoHud SCCA will allow roadsters to participate with an approved and teched roll bar, meeting the broomstick test, and with participation and cooperation of your instructor. You sign up, indicate that you have a Miata or S2000 or whatever, and they work to match you up to an instructor that will agree to ride with you in your roadster. They find you an instructor, your car gets teched and passes the requisite checks, and you are good to go.
I can tell you that a hard top will help in this instance. I will be running with one of my Miatas, both have roll bars, and it will have a hard top in place. Let me know if you have any questions, and I will get them answered. Also, keep the thread posted if anyone is going.
I drove on both Monticello South and Full last year. South is meh, Full is very very entertaining, with lots of different elements including a long straight. Very cool. You should note that this will likely be the last year that the Monticello Motor club will be allowing clubs to utilize the full course, so this may be a limited opportunity.
