North East dyno day?

A few of us in the Miata Mob(NJ) are looking to do another Dyno day at ACA Performance in Newark, DE. We're looking to do a Saturday as they said they would open for us if we have ten cars. We're coming up short so who else wants to join us?

We are looking for a date from now through November. Anyone wanna tackle organizing it too?

Our local thread about it http://www.miatamob.org/topics/1312?page=1

OK I spoke with them. We need 10 cars minimum to dyno to make it worth it for them at $60/car. If we come up short it's still a minimum of $600 and we'd each have to kick in the extra.

DATE: Saturday Nov 15th starting at 9am
PLACE: ACA Performance 73 Albe Dr Newark, DE 19702

Who's in I have to get back to him today or tomorrow confirming that we can do 10 cars.

CARS BEING DYNO'D

Paul's 94 daily driver expecting 225-250hp
Artie's 95 w/AbsurdFlow setup hoping for 270hp
EvanK's Squirted 04 MSM with AbsurdFlow turboback, hoping for 230hp
BruceW's 302 powered 93LE hoping for more than his last dyno 225hp/278tq
Johndoe's 94 w/Begi S3 w/gt2560r
Tim's TwinTurbo'd 92 expecting more than 270, hoping to break 300

ArtieParty 10-13-2008 03:49 PM

You know Im in. And Bruce with the V8 miata is in too.

Braineack 10-13-2008 03:52 PM

Name a date and I can probably make it. Might drag Newbsauce out as well.

paul 10-13-2008 03:54 PM

Was hoping you would name the date and handle it

Braineack 10-13-2008 03:57 PM

I can barely handle my dick!

y8s 10-13-2008 04:47 PM

Someone get that boy some finer tipped tweezers!

I could maybe be persuaded to slap my shit on a dyner.

airbrush1 10-13-2008 07:07 PM

depends on if mine is back together by then :(

evank 10-14-2008 06:50 PM

I'm in, just want to get the new IC installed first ....

TurboTim 10-15-2008 08:51 AM

I'll go. I want 300rwhp so I can finally ditch this setup.

johndoe 10-15-2008 01:15 PM

I'm down.

Skunk 10-15-2008 03:34 PM

I'll go for the ride, not to dyno

paul 10-15-2008 08:29 PM

Skunk's with me so don't give him shit for not posting an intro thread.

paul 10-20-2008 11:43 PM

Anyone feel like organizing this?

johndoe 10-21-2008 12:45 AM

That would be super.:yippee:

paul 10-21-2008 07:44 AM

I'll try to call them today and set something up for Nov 15th. It's a saturday.

paul 10-21-2008 01:20 PM

If you really plan on swapping intake manifolds while at the dyno you are gonna have to pay as 2 cars so that makes it easier for us to make the 10 car min.

airbrush1 10-21-2008 01:57 PM

I'm out, I have another dyno day and open house that day already

I know this. That's why I asked on the mob whether it's possible. I dont have a problem paying twice. Just wanna see the differences.

paul 10-21-2008 02:18 PM

You'll have to dyno first. Then take the car out and start the swap. I'll dyno. Then I'll help. Then I'll retune it with you and you can go again.

johndoe 10-21-2008 05:29 PM

I'm in.

thirdgen 10-21-2008 06:54 PM

Saturday, Nov.15th...I'm still running my voo-doo box with 7psi. I could come down though and do a pull just to get some figures, talk miata performance, and support the cause. If this is the same place it was at before, it took me 1hr and 15 min? $60?

That would be ideal. That way we can get a same day comparison of a gutted IM and what kind of power gains/losses it will have on the car with no other changes but the time of day.

paul 10-21-2008 08:05 PM

yes yes. so are you committing?

Braineack 10-21-2008 08:42 PM

if i can find another local to drive up with me im in

paul 10-21-2008 08:49 PM

sweet, get on that shit. beats the alternative of driving into bridges

y8s 10-21-2008 11:22 PM

i haven't changed anything since the last dyno day... but I do have a water injection setup I could install. it's only been sitting for.... 3 years?

paul 10-22-2008 12:10 AM

come on already. we need 10 and scott needs someone to convoy with

TurboTim 10-22-2008 08:10 AM

I am in.

y8s 10-22-2008 11:13 AM

but it's not any fun if i'm not the biggest power maker.

fmowry 10-22-2008 11:37 AM

That could be a goal to get my car back together.

Frank

johndoe 10-22-2008 11:44 AM

so who am I gonna have to give a hand job to to help a first time dynoer tune his car?

y8s 10-22-2008 12:18 PM

load a good spark map and the fuel map will take care of itself.

johndoe 10-22-2008 02:11 PM

well the spark is what I'd like to tune. Fuel I'm not worried about.
edit: and to be completely off topic anyone know if there is a minimum order for these things "Tyco P/N 173631 for .070" contacts www.onlinecomponents.com"? and how long it takes to get>?

paul 10-25-2008 06:58 PM

Any more people gonna commit so i don't get fucked footing the rest of the bill on my birthday? Need 3-4 more cars at least.

urgaynknowit 10-25-2008 07:50 PM

this dyno meet is def NOT north east..... im north east,
u guys are like mid east, almost south

i had a 600 miles trip to this shit last time

johndoe 10-25-2008 08:00 PM

if you just need bodies why not advertise on m.net? might get some douches but eat least it will be cheaper. and yes i would not call Delaware northeast either.

paul 10-25-2008 08:03 PM

someone a lil more well known over there want to list it?

there's the msm forum too.

urgaynknowit 10-25-2008 08:06 PM

u could try clubroadster :bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:

johndoe 10-25-2008 08:32 PM

I'm willing to pay more to not have those guys show up. Maybe Brain or y8s could make a thread over on m.net

y8s 10-25-2008 09:10 PM

y8s hasn't committed yet.

johndoe 10-25-2008 09:11 PM

y8s is a meanie.

thirdgen 10-27-2008 04:46 PM

So I pulled the voo-doo box today and am dead set on getting my MS to work. If the car starts up, drives ok and doesn't run like a pile of shit; I will be there. The last time I went there I think it was 4 pulls and you could do quick adjustments in between pulls...is this the same way?

paul 10-27-2008 05:31 PM

Yup. If you need help tuning the thing before getting on the dyno I can probably lend a hand.

evank 10-27-2008 07:41 PM

If I can learn to tune it, then almost anyone here can.

Big props >> Paul's teaching skills.

patsmx5 10-27-2008 07:52 PM

Someone mapquest the distance from 39759 to 19702. It's not working for me.

evank 10-27-2008 08:01 PM

988 miles. from: Mississippi 39759 to: 19702 - Google Maps

holy shit pat, you were considering it? that's commitment.

patsmx5 10-27-2008 08:44 PM

Yeah, I was thinking about it, but there's no way I could do that right now with school. But yeah if yall organize one this summer I'm in. MSU is the farthest North I've ever been. I'd like to head up there just to check things out, see what it's like. And this summer I'll have something worth putting on a dyno.

Funny side note- I've sold a valve cover to half the people on Paul's list. :)

Or retarded. Then again, I was gonna fly to Dallas to snatch that 10AE out from under Ben.

Frank

Braineack 10-28-2008 02:58 PM

I'm still undecided.

On the one hand I'd like to see how my setup looks on the same dyno I've run on multiple times. Especially now that I discovered my missing spark angle.

On the other, I should be one custom IM richer and don't really wanna spend the cash/time/effort beforehand.

thirdgen 11-02-2008 10:51 AM

So today is Nov. 2nd. Is this thing still on?

paul 11-02-2008 01:32 PM

Yes.

TonyV 11-06-2008 11:56 PM
