You are certainly welcome to use my Go-Pro on sessions that I am not using it (we only have 1 shared session per day I think). I was actually going to offer to anyone who wants to watch their actions on track for improvement.

Lol, I kinda wonder how many gopros we have combined...

Ive got one too, and its free to use as long as im not using it. I think that pretty much means bryan, and he already has one if I remember correctly.

I haven't run with NASA at Rd. ATL for 5 years- but I believe Jim Pantas is still in charge and it was a silky smooth event. Nobody gives grief for no apparent reason. I did a nut&bolt on the car I was racing that weekend, in the shed, between sessions and had a group come through. There were no issues. They only use the scales and then roll the cars out of the shed to a staging area outside- so the big area under the roof stays open. I would think the only time that area might be congested is after a spec E30 or miata race for impound...

FWIW aligning the rear isn't too hard- though I might think that because I've done it so many times. But I use four jackstands and some thread to build a square box (two strings at the sides of the car parallel to the center line- compensate for track offset). With some sliders made with masonite sandwiching grease, you can jack the car up, make adjustments, sit it down on the sliders, center up and measure. That's a half hour job with a crew worst case.
I was going to do something slightly different. if you raise the suspension, it will take some time to settle back down. instead what im going to do is use trash bags with pam inbetween them to act as toe plates. I will still be using the jackstands and string method. then 2X4 toe plates. all in all not very different from what your doing!

All HPDE1 and 2 sessions are back to back except for Sun night's combined session so sharing will be a no-go. Thanks anyway. I'll be fine without it.

The two pieces of masonite (or any slick-ish material- aluminum, laminate actually work better as they don't absorb the lube...) with grease sandwiched between is a wonderful slider. You can literally push the car with your finger. Drop the car down on the slider and then push down on the corners and the suspension is fully settled. But you're welcome to use your garbage bags. ;)

Any of you fools doing anything tonight?

Seefo 12-02-2011 03:35 PM

I won't be in till 10-11PM, so I think I am going to sleep. Collin doesn't love me and is leaving me, so he should be down earlier.

shuiend 12-02-2011 04:10 PM

I got 1 pound of pulled pork for food so far. I will be going up to the store later and getting a good amount of chicken to grill. I plan on marinading some in BBQ sauce. Any other sauces you guys want chicken marinaded in? I am also going to pick up burgers.

lol @ NASA SE segregation. Can someone pick up a Georgia windchime for me? :giggle:

Have fun handballing each other.

Seriously, do you guys let blacks on the track at the same time? Serious question. What about in-ground plumbing?

Doppelgänger 12-02-2011 05:00 PM

In-ground plumbing....haha...what do you think RA is ? A modern racing facility? Don really needs to sink some serious money into RA to make it half as nice at Barber. The track and layout is epic, but the facilities definitely look like they were built in the 70's and never maintained....oh wait.

shuiend 12-02-2011 09:59 PM

So I got 8 pounds of meat for the weekend. Hopefully it is enough. I also got some poster boards and sharpies. We need to come up with some random saying to put on them while we occupy.

I should be out between 11-12 tomorrow morning. Just in time to get grilling.

+1.

It was repaved a couple of years ago, but run off sucks. Bottom of the esses is a fucking river if it actually rains. And tbh the backstraight chicane is scary (and slick) enough already, when its wet you are guaranteed to see at least one car per session in the sand pit.

Last weekend, It seemed to be vipers and m3s who loved the sand pit there (it rained last time I was here).
