Oregon Raceway track day July 27th.
Curly and I are signed up for a track day at the new Oregon Raceway Park. This is an advanced track that is simply a kick in the pants to drive. Lots of elevation changes, off camber corners, blind corner entries, etc. The track is about 2 1/2 hours east of Portland in Grass Valley OR. If you aren't familiar with Grass Valley you are forgiven. It think the population is under 200.
I've driven this track twice this year and can't wait to get back. Tight and twisty with plenty to learn. Intermediate to advanced drivers only. No novices, no instruction. This track is great for our lighter cars. It's also easier on the car. You are much less likely to overcook your brakes than at Portland Raceway. It's tough to top 100mph on this track so your car is more likely to make it home in one piece.
It would be great to see some other Oregon, Washington or Idaho guys come out. This track is well worth the effort to get there.
The race track website is Oregon Raceway Park | Grass valley, Oregon | The Future of Racing in the Pacific Northwest The group putting on this track day is Palatov Motorsport Interesting format. They are running one group of bikes and two groups of cars. With only three run groups you can expect to get 6 to 7 runs in. That's a LOT of track time. $200.
Again, no novices. Hope to see some of you there. Happy to answer any questions you might have or point you in the right direction.

AX has it's place and is plenty of fun if you can get a bunch of runs in. It's a little different running flat out for 20-30 minutes straight though. Just different creatures.
Looks like there are some very affordable club events for Novice drivers up at Bremerton. We need more NW guys showing up at the track! We can't let the Texas and CA guys have all the fun.

I agree. I wish very badly that I had caught the Alfa school earlier this year but my GF and I ended up doing the tire rack street survival instead. Was fun but doesn't get you flagged for track driving.
