Sux that wags and quan won't be in. Missing a few others from last year as well. Hopefully the conga line will allow for learing the track at slower speeds. The really fast guys only do 2-3 laps then pull off so that will help open it up.

Having never been on it should be intereating doing recon on the warmup. Lost of times they won't do the later sessions either. I'm guessing that the last Sunday session will be my best chance for a hotlap, but won't count for TxMC. Should be fun though.

Haven't run since ECR and jonesing..

I definitely want to do this next year. Seriously, is there a pointer to equipment requirements? For example, roll bar? I'm talking about the "ride around with an instructor -- no passing" class because I'm a .

run a hard dog roll bar. only other thing needed is a helmet (preferably a sa2005 rated helmet). probably won't be running with nasa for TxMC events next year, but the rules are pretty much the same with all hpde groups.

Let's get 8-10 events so I can take all these numbers off my car and quit chasing cars with more hp/lb on Hoosier A6's in 40-car fields.

So I figured it out. The piston area on these is HUGE, 50% bigger than stock. Hence the much greater pedal travel. Not to mention the huge bias shift forward. I should have checked that

I'm looking at getting dynalites with smaller pistons in a big hurry.

EDIT: The parts are on their way, Forged Dynalites with 1.38" pistons. These are the same calipers used in Savington's BBK. It is going to be close but they should fit the wheels. If this all works out, I'll be there. Otherwise...

Anyone know if the track vendors carry Hawk DTC-60s or 70s for Dynalites? I have a brand new set of DTC-70s on the car now, so if they last the whole weekend I am OK.

I'm not sure if MER sells them but I know PST sells PFC pads and they've sold me a set in a pinch before. You probably want the PFC-01's. I also have spare 60's in my box. Your 70's will last a few weekends, I'm getting 4+ days out of my 60's.

LOL at Discount Tire. For NT-01s in 225/45/15 he quoted me $160 per tire plus tax. When I pointed out onlinetires.com sells them at $122 plus shipping, he dropped the out the door price (not mounted, with tax) from $700 to $544, to beat onlinetires $555 with shipping.

Plus the tires will be here on Friday. I am bringing an extra set to MSR just in case. My TWIs are showing.

I'll be sure to cause a real big incident in your corner.

The new brake calipers are in the car and working well so I am looking good for this weekend. I have a minor upper radiator hose clearance issue to correct but otherwise I am good to go.

great, can't wait to see your beast on track. i pray my car runs right. it seems fine other than a couple little issues (high idle and o2 sensor is dead)
but otherwise seems okay. gonna get the alignment checked today. i noticed a scuff in front of my pass. side rear tire at ecr and then noticed weird handling on a left turn. looks like someone may have backed a trailer into my car or something. hopefully it's just out of alignment or maybe there was something on the track in the corner where i noticed it.

my buddy is going up there with us. he just finished his second fd lx-7 swap.
his last one was pretty fast, but he sold it due to his height and the sunroof. this new one doesn't have one but instead of 360whp, the new one is pumping out 515whp! plus it has a roll bar, mono flex, stoptech bbk. if anything, his only weak link might be tires. not sure what he'll be rolling on. should be fun though.

Wow... That is pretty cool! I want to see that too.
Suddenly my LS1 swap feels small and inadequate

Glad you will make it.

I made some changes to the suspension that bias it towards oversteer, which may be an improvement since I was biased towards understeer previously. It could get tail happy. But I have a set of stiffer front springs I can swap out if need be.

I am bringing a Longacre pyrometer, the probe type, with memory. We should be able to work something out on taking tire measurements if the TxMC people are split between two sessions. If someone will measure temps for me in my session, the gauge will be available for others as well. This is on a non-interference basis of course. It is all about me after all.

No ****. I just fixed a pretty serious suspension problem on my car and took it for a spin...things are very different. I guess I'm back to adjusting things.

What was the problem?

Hey, if it is not too last minute, what about a Saturday evening beer exchange? Everyone bring a 6 of your favorite beer (something really good) and we'll trade. It is like a a cookie exchange, but with much more win... (Actually this is a plot on my part to cause several to miss the first session Sunday morning due to extreme hangover. More track space for me. I'm bringing ABT 12, in the BIG bottles).

Seriously though I'll bring a 6 of something tasty. Who is in?

My front sway was hitting the control arm due to the long-*** links. I put in shorter links, clearanced the swaybar-rubbers again, and now I have much less effective front spring rate.

I'll bring some Flying Dog Belgian Style Witbeer. I need some cooler space.
