Camping... That's when you go to the hotel and the wifi doesn't work very well, right? :)

Any idea if they're assigning paddock space this year like they did last year?

Unlimited data and rooted android phone. My wifi is better than 90% of hotel wifi.

Last year we all met up for breakfast on Friday but we were all in the area for the car show picture thing on the hill. Saturday probably won't work this year seeing as we all need to be in a drivers meeting in the AM.

What's the consensus? Keep it here? Take it to Facebook? :dunno:

I hope not, but then I have no idea. Who do we know that is organizing the event? Is Keith still involved?

Yes, Keith is still majorly involved and I'm pretty sure Rick is still the big cheese. AFAIK, the track day is still being run by Doug @ TrackMasters (they've done all of the previous ones). I'll ping Keith and ask him.

I hung out with Doug Gale at thunderhill and he said he was running it again. Cool dude.

what about friday afternoon/dinner.

I know Ed and I will be in the area doing monterey stuff. And some locals to show us what to do wouldn't hurt.

EO2K 08-20-2015 05:52 PM

I'm still wondering if the range will be open on Fri/Sat/Sun that weekend.

What exactly is "doing Monterey stuff" ?

aidandj 08-20-2015 05:53 PM

It should be. Its not listed as a closure. I'll be bringing pistols and hopefully making it there.

aidandj 08-20-2015 05:54 PM

Monterey County Parks | Laguna Seca Recreation Area

codrus 08-20-2015 05:57 PM

Keith says the assigned paddock parking was a one-off thing for last year because of the size of the event, and this year it's back to first-come-first-serve.

I plan to get there Friday afternoon to drop off my trailer & Miata. Staying at the hotel Fri/Sat nights.

Did he say when it will open? We should see how many spots they will let us block off with cones/tools/chairs.

EO2K 08-20-2015 06:10 PM

We are going to need a lot of pink crepe paper barriers.

aidandj 08-20-2015 06:13 PM

Holy shit, they make custom caution tape.

Can we get it in pink?

EO2K 08-20-2015 06:14 PM

How much? Because I'd fund at least a roll.

aidandj 08-20-2015 06:15 PM

I'm searching. Looks not that expensive. <$20 probably.
