All that video needs is some remote mics for audio that equals the video quality. In showroom stock we had to run a full exhaust so I ran a remote mic in my engine bay. That was the only way to get any indication of throttle since the camera couldn't pick up any engine noise from the mount point inside.

 

I've thought about trying to run Logic + firewire recording interface + condenser mic. I can't imagine that audio being less than amazing.

 

First one, I assume its 50mm, but i honestly do not know I never measured it. However it looks identical to that one in the pic.

A member on here, ill get in contact with him and see if he has any interest in making more. It was sort of a favor for me, not sure if he wants to do this after his 8 hr work days. It works well enough to keep caliper temps under 300* 3"ducting is correct.

Heh, i ended up making my own switch panel as you can see in the video. As for the ducts, I didn't exactly make them so ill get in contact with the guy who did and see if he has any interest in making more.

The rubber lines are good for 300psi, they have been working just fine in my car for two years now. For a 17 dollar difference i would have gone with stainless lines though. I may end up changing my oil cooler setup and going with stainless lines.

My oil temps were saying 300* but my sender is in the feed line, right under the exhaust manifold. I am kinda thinking the heat from the manifold is heating up the sender. I may just change the location of the sender and see what the temps read. Oil pan is best correct?

The idea is really cool to me, i enjoy having quality videos to share with you all. However the go-pros (outside views) dont have a mic input, and neither does the sony handycam that was on the inside. I would rather spend money on the car than a new camera JUST for recording better audio. I think its GE, good enough, for me.

 

How are you picking-up air for the brake ducts? I have mine in the RB vents but only running a 2.5" hose and seeing 370* caliper temp readings on my stylish Alcon temp strips. I bet Chris will build more ducts like that considering the cost of tires on his 993 (virtual) cup car.

Thanks for the kudos Nick! I really had no idea that they would be that effective, but every little bit helps. I would be glad to make some more for any interested... I will say that John Wags has modified a set I made for him to go on another customer's car; however from what I've seen thus far is that there is some modification (cutting) of the spindles to allow them to work. Mine bolt on with no modification what so ever.
These were the first prototypes ever and some tinkering with angling of the inlet will be in order for better optimizing. I don't believe Nick has any problems with routing or clearance issues, so I haven't bothered with a second edition.

I am putting fans in mine. Warped another set of backing plates, this time in the 6-pots at Laguna. I need more airflow.

 

Outside (rim side) of the caliper's temp sticker is @ 350* I used 3 inch hose.

 

I cant believe you hung with that Radical. Ive never driven one but Ive been out on the track with them, and theyre very quick.

 

Fair enough, do you plan on getting rid of the radio surround? That's why I did mine, so I could just have the dash bar uprights. Not like you're saving much weight, but it frees up some valuable space.

He doesn't necessarily need to make more, just get us a rough sketch of hole location and shape of the plate. I think all of us with an angle grinder could cut them out of a $10 sheet of steel from Home Depot, and I doubt the $5 in pipe would cost more than $20 to be welded. I'm down for $35 brake ducts.

I could also do the R&D myself, but this is MT.net, we're lazy AND cheap.

 

Machismo is who made them. I think ill leave the radio surround, i like the way the switches fit in there nicely. Gives it a rather clean look too.

Maybe we need to start putting air on Savington's calipers. However, I warped my 2-sets of Carbotech backing plates and I do not warp PFC-97/01 or DTC-60 backing plates.

 

I can do all I can do...but that is all I am going to do.

 

What bolt boss locations does that use? OEM dust shield?

I have lots of short sections of 3" stainless lying around. And my dad says I can take his plasma cutter, he doesn't use it anymore. I have a goodwin first gen or so BBK, not sure if that caliper location would work with what you all use.
