A couple of laps of TWS in the S2000
This is a 2:05 then a 2:04, the next one was a 2:03 but was cut off on accident. On the 2:03 I got a better run off of 1 onto the banking, you can even here me shift into 6th at the end of the video. The car is retarded fast for being almost stockish. I left a lot of time on the table by braking early in to the corners due to random brake fade. The car was a little tail happy with the 255 square setup and was a little spooky before it took a set due to the proggresive springs. With better pads, clear track, and some more ***** a 2:00 is doable for me.

IDK, I'm sure his car would be faster if a pro driver drove both of them. It was a little hard for me to push the car much harder with one off already under my belt in that same session that got taped. This place had a 2 off go home rule, which doesn't really lend it self to going 10/10ths. Plus TWS isn't like a lot of tracks, you really don't want to go off fast at this track on 1,2,4,5,6,7...

The LS1 car was really stable and predictable/controllable at 2:01-2:02 lap times so I would imagine it is at least easier to drive faster. I'm pretty confident I can get at least a couple of seconds below 2:00, with brakes that work, and more ***** in 1. There is a lot of time in Turns 1-2 at TWS in either direction.
Yes an off at TWS can go bad quickly depending on which corner it is. It is the fastest track in the area.

Colin told me I was taking the beta route through there, he finally had me getting through there with some speed by entering in 5th, matting it, never lifting, and I was hitting the apron on exit and grabbing 6th. That **** was fast, son.

Think about that... That is a 10-15 second WOT run in top gear (for most all of us) depending on how soon you accelerate in T1 and how deep you go on the brakes into T15. How many tracks do you get to do that at? Awesome.

2-1 was weird for gearing. I was braking in 4th to enter 2, then UPSHIFT to 5th, accelerate through the corner, slip to 6th on the apron. Lots of grip there, it was awesome to load the car up and roll.

That is weird. Maybe you didnt have to go to 5th. Maybe it was just to get your courage up. Ive had students do that before. Isn't your 4-5th like my 3rd-4th? If I'm keeping my speed up like I should, I stay in 4th from turn 6 thru 1 shifting into 5th before the banking. Then I'm in 4th until turn 11 before the carousel the only corners I drop to 3rd for. Then I have to shift to 4th before the uphill left turn 9. And run out of gear as soon as I get on the back straight where I hit 5th. I think if I can carry just a little more speed thru 8, it would be worth it going to 5th before turn 7. Might be able to pickup a few MPH on the back straight.

It sounds illogical, but works. 4th gear put's me on the rev-limit too soon, and I could still spin the tires in 5th gear if I wanted to since I have 240wtq at 3400rpm. My 1-5 are a touch shorter than 1-5 on a 5-speed/4.30 and 5th is 1:1. I was grabbing 5th after 12, 8, 5, and into #2. 4th is the lowest gear I used on the track. This is another reason I love the 6/3.63, the gears are still close enough that you have options on which gear if the torque is there.
