Default BETA Test the MT Video Uploader. Win $250 to Amazon

We have updated the picture uploader on desktop and mobile to allow video uploads. This should work for most mobile video formats (mp4, webm and mov) and the only limit is the file must be under 500MB (~2 minutes at 1080p or just over 1 min 4K).

Please give it a test in this thread to find any potential issues we may have missed in testing.

Here is an example of a mobile video uploaded from my phone:

Maserati MC12 Embedded Video Test

*Note* Video uploads are not available through the Garage Talk mobile application yet. Only desktop and mobile browser views.

CONTEST OVER. Please continue testing and feedback on this thread

My apologies. Attachments work as well but if you use the uploader at this icon you will have a better experience. Updated first post as well to highlight.

Looks like there is some amount of processing time that happens after you upload? Says it will be available in a few minutes.

I had one video get stuck at 99% while "uploading from device", tried multiple times.

iPhone 5S using the full version mobile site trying to load directly from my phone. I seriously doubt the video was larger than the upload limit.

No error notification or anything, just stuck at 99%.

The video I had problems with is significantly larger than the one I posted above.

This is a 4k video test. Shot and uploaded from Nexus 5x.

Sat at 99% for a while.

Another video. Same device. 1080p this time though.
This one was at 99% for less than 5 minutes.

Grid at Mid-Ohio AER race...this is the video I had trouble with earlier...apparently I wasn't patient enough before. Sat at 99% for 2-3 minutes.

Some files take about 30 seconds to finish up and display. For me it usually shows the message and then a page refresh or waiting a minute lets me play the video.

We may need to tweak the loading percentage to be more accurate for larger files. Let me know if that keeps happening for multiple files. Usually hangs only for about 10 seconds at 99% for me. Edit: seeing 99% now for larger files.

Finish of the Sunday AER race at Mid-Ohio.

This one was loaded from a Galaxy S7 using Chrome, also from the standard full version website.

Sat at 99% for more than 5 minutes.

Thanks all! Seems to at least be able to upload and play for everyone so far despite the delays.

In testing we had a short upload time but after the upload there was a long time with the "your video is still uploading" when hitting play until it actually played the video. They made a change to make the upload hang on the 99% instead and then play it quicker after uploading.

We will play with that to see if we can find a happy medium.

Shouldn't be a problem to upload anywhere outside this thread as well. I will take a look at the error to figure out what is happening there as mp4 should work fine.
