Knox Mountain Hill Climb - Kelowna, BC
Local hill climb held this last weekend.
Here is my best video. It's the fastest run from day 1 (2:14). I missed two shifts and spun all the way throuh 3rd and 4th after corner 5 (watch close enough and you'll see it). Also got pretty hairy at the end. The camera dosen't really catch how close I got to spinning.
Day two I did a best of 2:08 which is very fast for my first year. Next year I will have fresh A6's instead of my 9 year old A032R's..
and more power

. Competitive motorsports was never really a big focus of mine, but since EVERYONE around here is starting to get into road racing, I need to step up my **** or I'm gonna get left behind.
It's easy. All I did was a weekend "driver training" type thing. Then you just send in your paper saying you completed the course to SCCA or CACC and apply for your "Sr. Solosprint License"... it's $60.
The gear is the expensive part.

Yet again, i'm pissed I had to miss this. Looks like a blast and good job.
The two people I knew there did just about exactly the same haha.

Do the school in canada, not the US.
Ya, you can do it at Mission Raceway (in Mission, BC) or Western Speedway in Victoria, BC.
There is still one more driver training in Mission this year. So you could still come out and do some of the solo1 (time attack style stuff) at Mission.

The cool thing about licensing in Canada is that you can get an FIA license
I had that Rabbit blow by me at Race City in Calgary a couple of years ago during a Solo1 event. Quite the interesting car, AWD and fast as ****.
What safety gear do you have to run for Knox?

My license is ASN FIA.
Full safety gear is required. Suit, SA lid, gloves, nomex socks/bala, shoes, arm restraints etc. For "SP" (Street Prepared) class you only need a rear cage. You also need a current 5 or 6 pt harness. No seat is required but highly reccomended. I wouldn't have wanted to run it in a stock seat. Any full bucket is allowed, dosent have to be FIA.

That porsche drive thought differently. Almost.
note: FFWD to 1:36 for the start on the vid
That looks like the kind of hill climb I'd like to start on. The climbs over here have a lot more curves, trees and rocks.
