Miata vs Sti
She's running a huge front mount with stock turbo? That's the stupidest **** ever. Also, sti injectors? Why? that td04 barely maxes out the stockers running 20psi and rich as hell. Sounds like her wrx is modded retardedly and I doubt its making 240whp. Just my opinion though.

A well tuned STI on a stock turbo with supporting mods should trap 105-108.
A well tuned Miata with a 2560 will trap higher but be slower in the 1/4. It's just easier to launch an AWD car and get a respectable 60 ft.

Exactly. I told his dumb *** not to get a vf22. Its just a damn 39 with a TIIIINY bit larger compressor god for MAYBE another 10-20hp which is beyond retarded to spend money on and consider an "UPGRADE". He made 280 with a 39 and now 300 with the 22. Whoopty friggin dooo...
Now he has a laggier, peakier powerband, and is maxing out the vf22 just to make the extra 20hp. I had to pull a bunch of timing up top too cause he doesn't want to taper boost and the turbo is just huffing hot air.
Oh well, its his car/money.

Well there's a guy here with a T25 running a 12.5 1/4 mile. The thread was posted a few months back, I think he running an Egay T25 at that.
t25's range from microscopic to fairly large. Mine for example, is technically a t25/t3 hybrid yet is similar in size to a tater
The Fleabay 25's tend to be on the large side mostly

I've been wanting to get a good race only thing I got my my friends Saab aero and I emberrased him like no other, and then my other friend with a stock audi a4 1.8t I won't even wanna tell you what waist of gas that was. But they don't know anything about cars and just cause their cars cost 15-20k more than mine they think they'll beat me LOL
AWD is a huge advantage on the street for sure, but frankly on the strip its down to skill. My lame skillz got me 1.8-1.9 60 foots in my DSM (in my defense that was on 205 width all seasons). Thats well within what a good driver can do on almost any RWD platform with a good tire and decent power. Most guys at the track in Evo/WRXs will cut something like a 1.7 if they are halfway decent from what I have seen. Turbo Miatas just dont spend much time at the strip in compairison.

The kind of traction off the line and in the lower gears that I had on my subaru's I can only dream of in the miata.
yeah yeah, its POSSIBLE to make it grip, but that requires a hefty amount of money

I look at it a different way.
I think it's impressive that Subaru can put together a tough, comfortable, and reliable 3300lb+ four-door that can at least keep pace with a little forced induction miata. The STI is reasonably fast on the dragstrip and roadcourse. And is nearly untouchable on gravel/dirt/ice. AND you can fit carseats in the back, fill it with groceries, or go on a trip with the family.
In addition to our Turbo Miata, we also have an '02 WRX, an '06 STI, and a '90 DSM. On a nice day on nice roads the miata is a blast, and it's definitely faster and more fun for autocross. Acceleration wise they feel about they same but I've never put them head-to-head. The miata at 9/10's involves a lot of driver attention which makes it fun and rewarding. The STI practically drives itself at 9/10's and is a bit boring once you are used to it.
But if I had to pick one car to get me and my stuff from point A to point B, as fast and as safe as possible, under imperfect road conditions (I suppose that's the definition of rally), it would definitely be the STI.

Besides do you really believe the "never been raced/abused" claim by owners advertising a moded vehicle, like really

Same car, looks dope. I like gutted turbo miata. Looking at the youtube vids, I bet it weighs around 2050 when he runs the hardtop. He is probably making around 230ish whp. Thats 8.91 to 1...fast.
Traction is over rated
