My first event of the season (vids & pics)
Finally was able to make it out to an autox. Ran with the local BMW club. Can ran great, needs more tire. Ran on my 205 street tires....watch as I drift into the stop box. Had another local miata guy ride along, he couldn't believe the torque.

Car seems very nicely planted.

So fun! I can't wait to get mine back together and get to more events.

Does the rearview mirror really distract you?
I'd think the yellow mark flashing right in front of your face would be worse. What wheel is that? |

Only changes to the suspension was the removal of the rear sway bar and the solid diff mounts. One of the first autoxes I'v done in a long time where i didn't spin a least once. I can control the rear much better, I blame a lot of that on the manual steering. |
results are up. out of 24 non-bmws I was 9th.
Code:
'Non-BMW (Street Tires)' Total Entries: 25 raw time I was 37 out of 93. Still waiting for pics, here's one of my dad driving: http://www.boostedmiata.com/autox/8-...enififteen.jpg |
Nice job. Did the eBay wheel come with a hub?

good runs but you still have a bit of oversteer. if you watch #3, the passenger (a 99 stock owner) comments on the handling near the end of the video :50 ...also yells "shhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" at :09. |
very nice, man. im going to start up again in the sm2 class once the turbo install is finished. its been way too long since ive competed last.
|
Looks like a blast. That's interesting that you run full stiff in front and half in rear. I ran full soft up front and 1 turn in the rear I think. I had some oversteer, little more then I wanted for an autocross when going for time. I'll try your settings next time.

i started at 1 turn each, just trying to tune out oversteer. ended up with that, seemed to work. what i need is 275s. |
I liked the ones where the guys head wasn't in the fucking way
|
try softer settings. try 3 up front and 1 in rear. worked best for me.

How did you end up so far behind an 06?
|
I think the most interesting part is the 240SX out front, must have been modded and had a great driver.
|
don't forget:

I should get some video the next time I go to Marina. Last time out I was 3rd out of 160+ raw time. 1st was a JRSC '90 on 13" Hoosiers, 2nd was a DM Fiat, 4th was a 2700lb 450whp Evo.
