Default My first event of the season (vids & pics)

Finally was able to make it out to an autox. Ran with the local BMW club. Can ran great, needs more tire. Ran on my 205 street tires....watch as I drift into the stop box. Had another local miata guy ride along, he couldn't believe the torque.

Does the rearview mirror really distract you?

I'd think the yellow mark flashing right in front of your face would be worse. What wheel is that?

not distracting, but it's somewhat in the way, lots of "uphill" on that course, clears a out of the view, plus you can see more on the video

wheel is a $40 deep dish ebay wheel.

very happy with the car, it performed better than the last. Only changes to the suspension was the removal of the rear sway bar and the solid diff mounts. One of the first autoxes I'v done in a long time where i didn't spin a least once. I can control the rear much better, I blame a lot of that on the manual steering.

Nice job. Did the eBay wheel come with a hub?

that steering wheel works great for the price. i have the same one

good runs but you still have a bit of oversteer.

I think it's more of a lack of tire. I had the shocks at full stiff in the front and 1/2 turn in the rear. no rear bar. it's much easier to handle than the last car, like i said, I never lost the rear once...only ******** into the stop box constantly.

if you watch #3, the passenger (a 99 stock owner) comments on the handling near the end of the video :50 ...also yells "shhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" at :09.

Looks like a blast. That's interesting that you run full stiff in front and half in rear. I ran full soft up front and 1 turn in the rear I think. I had some oversteer, little more then I wanted for an autocross when going for time. I'll try your settings next time.

i started at 1 turn each, just trying to tune out oversteer. ended up with that, seemed to work. what i need is 275s.

I think the most interesting part is the 240SX out front, must have been modded and had a great driver.
