Redline Time Attack + Rain + 250whp = The time of my life!
Race car all cleaned up and ready for a weekend of play:

I ended up having the most amazing time of my life in my car this weekend. Nothing went wrong with it mechanically, it ran very strong, was a blast to drive in the wet, I learned alot and made alot of great friends. We participated in the BTA (beer time attack) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...2_798835_n.jpg both nights, special thanks for the free beer with GST motortsports and the insane impreza L they built. Great times, great people, cant wait to do it again! I was able to participate in the "wheel to wheel" section of redline because of my cage and hans device, it was alot of fun to be on track with some high dollar cars, and not get last :D |
Haha man that sounds like one awesome weekend
|
The car looks great man! Glad you had fun.
|
Nice! In for vids! :loser:
|
Awesome pics, +1 for vids. Looks like a blast, and BTA sounds like a good use of an evening.
|
that has gotta feel good. throw the thing into crazy conditions and it exceeds expectations. if you go fast enough who needs wipers anyway. +1 on the baller harness connectors albeit too. :D
any problems with foggy windshield? |
RainX and antifog work wonders.
|
sounds like a blast. cant wait for a vid or two

Looks like a ton of fun. What tires where you on?
|
Prolly had a second set of wheels/tires for the rain.
|
As promised:
The silver wheels are a set that i borrowed from a friend. They had just about full tread on them, rs3's. The black wheels have worn nitto nt01s, both were like driving on ice in the rain. |
looks like you have that black lexus on a string. yoyo
i was expecting 4 to be slippy, but 2 looks very slippy even off-line as well and it wasn't even that wet. i guess you got the first rain of the season and all that oil came up. what a ride whew EDIT: you probalby don't care for stupid comments but it looks like u need more wing in carousel. car didn't look balanced through there... |
How did you like the xr2s in the rain?
|
The low-end torque from the AF bits makes rain driving very nice.
|
stop with the music.
can you please remix it with this: and then, make the volume like 5% so I can hear the car. edit: i see the music stopped... good. |
Very nice and good fast hands. He He...:eek3dance
|
good job on the video. Nice car and driving also.
|
Christ WTF with the music BOOO. I was going to forward the vid to all the typical guys in my company and others like your last video but having to wait thru 4 minutes of that stuff is making me feel ill. I don't want to crop your video to lap 2 :(

Sorry you don't like it, I thought I would throw something over the sound of the motor, which I think gets old fast if your not driving. |
^^ not if yer blood is a gasoline/meth mixture

Yeah I minimize the browser playing the youtube and listen sometimes too. I think music during the beginning and as you are getting the car ready, etc, that's all good.

What? Nobody here likes Radiohead?
|
I liked the music, nice touch. Also great driving!
|
Thanks! I had a blast, cant wait to get new tires and go on track again.
The car ran so well I didn't even know what to do between sessions. I guess its time to bring a book to read between track sessions.. Didn't think I would see the day! |
You got on motoiq.

Cobb?
I'm guessing that has something to do with his scoob and/or they pay him or offer him deals for slapping their sticker on. |

I was curious about that too. Cobb has nearly nothing to do with a miata.

Excellent video and pictures!
As already stated, I felt that the music in the beginning was a great touch, great choice too, but please make it go away when you start going fast! |

|

opps, my comment came off kinda snarky. didn't mean it.
ya, it is semi-virul advertising since their ads show up everywhere your car shows up (motoiq). congrats. got any video of u on wets? |

Seat time is seat time, and seat time in the rain is pretty rare so I took every opportunity I could to learn. My first laps were in the 2:50 range on Saturday morning. Sunday afternoon down to 2:24 fully wet. Ill scrounge something together for some full downpour driving. |
Very cool...
have a copy/pasta of your mod list? |

If you don't like sponsors then go run in NASA TT and not get any national blo coverage. I'd proudly wear the Massengil banner if they decided to bankroll a series I'm competing with. |

Ive got real seats and safety equipment because i don't want to hurt myself too. |
:giggle: That's actually a compliment. Tough love.

nick, nice driving. i like driving in the rain sometimes, but i love feeling the g's and high speeds more. i guess if it's a hpde then i wouldn't care, but if it's a comp. event, i'd rather it be dry. |

@spoolin i thought in wet races it would be easier to pick off the weak and sickly ones? or is it too easy to get punted off track... |
