I'm sure he made the clutch decision all on his own but...
everyone with a relatively high powered miata that asks what clutch to use, I tell them "get the 949 twin organic clutch" because it really is the best solution. no stupid stiff pressure plate and no engagement compromises like a metal puck clutch. it's almost as easy to drive as oem and holds 4x the power.
and on top of that emilio once told me that i was part of his inspiration for that clutch because of the twin plate i run in my daily driver.

I was thinking he was prepping for the next season, Im sure they will do it again next year, Running the last event of the year doesn't give you good season standings. Keep up the good work! lets get some more pics coming!

I was going to do an ACT XT with a 6puck, but once you do the math on that and a superlight flywheel, it's only another hundred bucks to the twin. Mine is a ceramic twin as well - if I slip this it won't matter because I'll be dead from excessive awesome.
Emilio had a single ceramic in his NB while I was there this week - it revs like a race car. I'm removing 18lbs of rotating mass from the clutch/flywheel assembly with this clutch, the equivalent of running no flywheel. And, it's a 7.25", so all that weight moves inboard which reduces the moment of inertia even further.

I love to blip my throttle when I pull up next to motorcycles. BRIM BRIM!
oh and sav, you wont slip that cerametallic disk. you get two choices: bog or boil rubber. sucked ***** on a daily driver.
your shifts should be blindingly fast on the track though.

That was always my point. When I was shopping for clutches, it was only a little bit more expensive to run the twin plate than it was for a high power normal clutch and lightweight flywheel.

It's insured and registered, but I'm deathly afraid of getting it impounded. It's got numbers, a huge wing, and no exhaust to speak of. Last time I drove it on the street was June, and I drove it about half a mile to the grocery store and back. It's up for smog in 2010 and I don't think I will be renewing the registration.

That's the hope. I'm sending my tranny in tomorrow to have the synchros and 5/R shift fork replaced, so it should be really good. The single was ceramic too, and it engaged more quickly than a 6-puck, but not as abruptly or roughly, if that makes sense. Emilio says the twin is a bit better - nasty fast shifts on track (he says he can stay 3/4 throttle and kick the clutch, and the rev drop is perfect) and still able to slip it onto the trailer at the end of the day.

It is the most comfortable race seat I've ever sat in, but it was a huge ***** to get into the car. I had to invest in a 12lb sledge to move the transmission tunnel enough. I am using some cheap sidemount brackets, and I cut the stock mounts out of the floor. I've been using it with the lower cushion in, but I'm going to try without it since it lowers you much further in the car.

Sav, if you could snap a few pictures of the v-mount you have your intercooler i think that could benifit alot of people who want to copy your setup. Like myself
