That's pretty interesting about the weight..

I really like the 6UL's on the MSM. Makes me think about getting some for mine.

NB's do look better to me with 16" wheels and lower sidewalls. Of course looks and performance are different things.

It's funny, I've had several people ask me on my NA, 12" ride height, nickel 6UL, 225/45 RS2 set up when I'm going to go with some low profile tires.

It does. The bigger tire probably weighs 5-10 pounds more than stock size. At least 185/60/14 vs 205/50/15 is a HUGE difference in weight. Well, not huge, but big.

leatherface24 05-28-2009 09:29 AM

damn big enough imo

emilio700 05-28-2009 11:47 PM

I think the NB looks best with the 15x9 and lowered a bit. The fenders are just that little bit wider than the NA so they seem to want that extra bit of width. The bodywork in general is just that little bit more curvy with a narrower mid section so the 9's on a lowered NB make the whole wheel arches look beefier, more like an S2000, Z4 or C6 IMO. The 15x8's on an NA, if lowered a bit look just as full as the 9's do on the NB I think.

my .02

i think you need to finally make a 16in 6ul or 17 for the NB guys :)

QFT! I've seen both the 8's and 9's on NAs and I think the 8's fill 'em up just as well. Now, I just need to get on the band wagon.... ;)

Totally off topic ... Emilo, when are you going to do another production run of the 15X8 in Nickle?

zoomin 06-01-2009 04:47 AM

Man, why did you have to remind me with this thread that my 6UL's STILL AREN'T HERE YET??!!

Nope.

What drives every new application I have planned is a race tire that people are trying to fit under a stock fender or getting that tire to work better. In the case of the Miata, the 15x9 is it. 6ULR's for the S2000, it's 17x9, 17x10 and 18x10. For the Corvette wheels coming next year, it's 18x10,18x11 & 18x13.

Dunno yet. Focusing resources on getting the 6ULR's into production.

I've still got a set of brand new Nickel 6UL in my basement shod in 225-45 RA1s.

Not for sale, just rubbing it in. :fawk:

Ordered a set from Goodwin tuesday. :) Now I just need to figure out what I want to run for tires, since the current 195/50/15 T1-S probably won't work well on an 8" wheel.

I LOVE my 205/50-15 Nitto Neo Gen's. They work perfectly on the street in both wet and dry weather. Best of all they are only a bit over $70 a piece. I'm really surprised that they don't get mentioned more often.

You don't like the 6UL's on your NB because of your ugly ass tail lights.

I'm really excited about putting bronze wheels on the green car...when I score another hardtop.

Gotpsi? 06-05-2009 11:40 AM

I have the 15x9's in bronze but I got to much attention from the cops so I painted them black, they fit really nice with 225-45-15 Hoosier R6's, just look out when they are cold on the street I pulled a massive accidental drift through an intersection in down town last week an am lucky there were no cops around.
