You put two of them...yeah, two of the big ones.... on the car.

I wonder how much the airflow over the front disturbs the airflow over the rear....

When he spins and has to cross the finish line in reverse to win the race he doesn't want to give up any downforce. They saw this happen in a movie once!
Looks like they've spent some money. Wonder what their testing showed.

The name on the door says Chris Rado - this guy has been around a while doing quite a few different kind of racing. He started out building some insane MKIV Supras for drag racing, but it looks like he has done some road racing as well.

Maybe the spoiler was some sort of experiment or funny April Fool's joke or something.

That is a FWD Scion TC going 10 seconds a lap faster than Matt Andrews' carbon Miata and 15 seconds a lap faster than a Spec Miata around that track. It's entirely justified.

I'm not completely discounting the fact that it works... but it does look funny and I don't want to imagine if he caught some lap traffic and got tangled up with someone. And with the budget that Rado has, I bet it would be 9.5 seconds a lap faster than Matt's car even without the front sing.
I'm guessing he's making enough excess power to overcome the additional drag created by all of that extra scaffolding. I bet the front braking threshold has improved at the end of the straights.
From the times they were posting at Willow Springs..... it is justified.
Not pleasing to my eyes, but def. justified.
The powerplant is just as impressive. 500 or so to the wheels I believe.

omg truck aero sweet, someone really should design a better truck aero package they would be able to easily get 10-20% gas mileage if they all weren't designed to appeal to rednecks who love bricks and rectangular objects.

Seriously, though. They are getting better. The Kenworth T2000 for instance looks like it might actually have a lower CD than, say, Utah:
Peterbilt's even got an OTR Hybrid out now: http://www.peterbilt.com/hybrid386.1.aspx

Thats what we need
, was watching the science channel, he had a new design, said it was 50% better, one look at it and your like
because it was the size of a truck and trailer put together and had a fighter cockpit for the diver to sit in.
